As the story of Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson's shooting of Michael Brown begins to look less clear-cut than we were led to believe by Brown's friend, Dorian Johnson, the "voices of oppression" on MSNBC now say the real issue is that there aren't enough blacks on the Ferguson police force.
As Brown may or may not have said seconds before his death: I give up.
If the Ferguson police are forced to hire more minorities and women for the sake of diversity, the one thing we can be sure of is that more black people will be murdered, raped and assaulted.
Someone's got to say it, so it might as well be me: I'm against more black people being murdered, raped and assaulted.
In a massive, detailed 2000 study of the effect of court-ordered affirmative action plans on police departments, economist John Lott found that the more minorities on a police force, the higher the rates of murder, manslaughter, violent crime, robbery and aggravated assault will be. Violent crime increased by a minimum of 3.3 percent every year after affirmative action policies went into effect -- and the spike in crime was highest in black neighborhoods.
The problem was not with black cops, Lott's study showed, but rather with the lowering of standards across the board, resulting in less-qualified officers of every race. To get more of MSNBC's "voices of oppression" on police forces, requirements are reduced for all recruits. (Just as quality declined at MSNBC when "voices of oppression" had to be added to their lineup.)

I have been looking a labor data and a website call black demographics to verfiy to article. It is not easy to analyze the data because the raw data is not available, but the article had a point:
1.) Employment-population ratio for Black over 20 is 58.5 compared to 68.4 for white men;
2.) 50% of all Black males are employeed as white collar (includes government).
3.) 19.7% of all Black are employed by government compared to 14.5% all other. (initial research is that black males approaches 25%. This is most likely civilian labor but not verified.
4.) Police obviously makes up part of the government employment. I can't find the police employment of Black vs other but large gaps exist in education and public services. The means that black are choosing government field other than police.
5.) Blacks employment in Military generally exceeds population ratio.
All this means the poll of available Black Males to serve as police officers is very few.
Why would a black person who could genuinely qualify as a police officer (without affirmative action; meeting the same standards as a white man) ever work there?
One reason for the visibility of the black underclass is that those who have their stuff together and can make a go of it flee from poor blacks as quickly as white people do. Black neighborhoods tend to have no middle- or upper-class residents; they would be victimized by hood-rats, so they move to white neighborhoods.
Classic Ann zinger.
Ferguson actually has fairly decent starting pay, around 44k, comparable with the County Police. The more affluent areas start above 50k.
Now two miles away in Hillsdale, its 13 an hour.
Or (4) potential black applicants know they have criminal relatives and criminal friends and criminal relatives of friends and criminal friends of relatives, and just DO NOT want to deal with the potential complications.
Freeper puhleeze! !!
Your post makes so much sense ....why, it’s just stoopit...

Re: “When was the last time a white cop got convicted of raping a black woman?”
I have a better question.
When was the last time a non-Hispanic white male raped a Black woman?
Year in, year out, the number is zero, or very close to it.
Add door four - the drug test
(Just as quality declined at MSNBC when “voices of oppression” had to be added to their lineup.)

Nah, impossible, they had no quality so it could not decline, regardless of what they did. They were at rock bottom even before they went out and hired the “Reverend’ Al Dullthud. That is like the talk of Obama losing his credibility, ain’t no way you can lose what you ain’t never had.
It’s a tad more complex than Coulter makes it sound. Lott found that affirmative action (lowering standards across the board) kicked crime rates up considerable, but norming (lowering standards for a particular group, like lower strength requirements for women) “had much less harmful results.” (John Lott, Freedomnomics p. 131)
Coulter is correct that he says it hurts the most vulnerable — “Ironically, affirmative action consent decrees cause the biggest spikes in crime in poor African American neighborhoods — places already plagued by terrible crime.” (p. 132) Lott also believes that “the sharp increase in accidental police shootings” is related to lowering strength standards and hiring more female officers.
I thought the whole “Crime and Punishment” chapter in that book fascinating. Worth a read.
Agreed. I don't always/often get caught up in what Ann Coulter has to say, but if one reads this column, it's difficult not to agree with her. This time.
Nice long post but its wrong.
Half the police forces in central Florida are black.
One more tidbit from link:
In 1998 specifically, 3.2 out of every 10,000 black officers killed a black suspect sometime that year, whereas only 1.4 out of every 10,000 W&H officers killed a black suspect.
Also in 1998, about 2.8 out of every 10,000 W&H officers killed a W&H suspect sometime that yeardouble the rate at which W&H officers killed black suspects.

“First they threw out size requirements (cops used to be big so they didnt have to depend on their gun), then intelligence requirements for written tests, and then strength requirements to get females.”
Are you arguing the average “Dickless Tracy” is in any way inferior to a male cop?
Dat be sexist!
Probably “wasis” as well.
80% of blacks that are killed by cops are killed by black cops.
Or door #4, they make a hell of a lot more money dealing drugs.
