This is not an article, but rather a summary of what is now showing on the main page of Electoral-Vote.com, an election poll tracking site.
I've been visiting electoral-vote.com for years, and have found that the closer we get to an election, the more accurate their map gets. Recently, and for a long time, they have had Democrats poised to keep control of the Senate, 55 to 45.
However, in recent days it has shifted clearly toward the Republicans. Electoral-Vote.com is now showing the Republicans likely taking control of the Senate. Dems 48, GOP 51, Ties 1
Electoral-Vote.com makes its predictions based exclusively on the aggregate results of major polls. The statistics and predictions are updated daily.

I am not overwhelmed with confidence.
Too thin but I would not turn it down.
Yes, I get that. Hard for me to imagine Ginsburg hanging on for a couple more years. She looks half dead now.
As long as the RINO votes with the GOP and doesn't cause trouble like the Olympia Snowes of the world.
No problems. Elections have consequences. Every vote matters. Every election has significance. Every vote matters. Choices are not always perfect, but they are usually quite clear. Votes should never be wasted. The fact that Cochran:
1) voted against Obamacare
2) voted against Dodd-Frank
3) voted against the Porkulus
4) voted against Cap and Trade
makes him infinitely superior to his Dem opponent. If someone around here can identify one single Dem US Senate candidate, or one single Dem gubernatorial candidate, or one single Dem congressional candidate superior to his GOP opponent, PLEASE KINDLY IDENTIFY THEM.
This is a good read up thread about who I am voting for in November. He could easily change party to save his hide next time. Thad Cochran lost everyone of the 32 or so precincts in my county. If Thad Cochran wanted my vote in November, he would have courted me back in June.
So you are voting for Childers because he is the superior candidate or are you voting for him to punish Cochran?
Mainly to punish Cochran.
I rest my case.
This is what Mark Levin said after the runoff:
“If I lived in Mississippi, I would not vote for Thad Cochran, because Thad Cochran has besmirched me.
Thad Cochran has told Democrats, minorities, liberals, anybody who would listen that Im a racist and that I want to stop black people from voting.
People assigned to him, people associated with him Cochran hasnt denounced any of this. Mitch McConnell hasnt denounced any of this. John McCain hasnt denounced any of this. Haley Barbour hasnt denounced any of this.
Theyre having a party! They won!
They won, and why? Theyre so desperate to keep a constitutional conservative out of the Senate? Theyre so desperate to protect a man in the early stages of dementia, because hell vote the way they want him to vote, because they can control him?
And thats what weve become? Thats what the party of Lincoln has become? The party of Abraham Lincoln has become the party of race-baiting and food stamps? The party of Ronald Reagan has become the party of race-baiting and food stamps?
This is what happens when you have no principles. This is what happens when youve lost your moorings.
Reagan appealed to conservative Democrats on a cultural level. He appealed to their highest aspirations, not fear mongering, not race baiting, not by promoting big government programs.
No, theres no way Thad Cochran would get my vote. Id be betraying myself.”
Now I am a free thinker and don't have to do what the talk radio hosts tell me, but his sentiments square right with mine.
You can get all pious on me if you want. If Cochran loses by a vote call me out that Wednesday after the election.
I know how you feel. I volunteered on my first political campaign in 1976 (I was way too young to vote that year btw) and worked my heart out for RR when challenged President Ford in the primaries. Although I was DEEPLY disappointed (I watched every single moment of the tumultuous GOP convention in Kansas City that year) RR lost to Ford, I NEVER entertained the idea of supporting Carter out of revenge and I even ended up campaigning for Ford in the Fall because I knew how bad and inept and incompetent and naïve Carter was. Sometimes we just need to grin and bear it. This will probably be Cochran’s last term in the Senate. Let him keep the seat for another six years and groom a strong conservative to eventually replace him. Turning this seat over to a Dem who will back Harry Reid makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
You think Cochran is bad? Try living in CA and being stuck with Boxer and Feinstein who NEVER vote my way on anything. I would gladly trade Boxer and/or Feinstein for Cochran any day of the week!
The word is that Cochran will retire in a couple of years and that Gregg Harper will be appointed to fill his term. The leaders can’t let the people make that decision you know.
I figured you wouldn’t answer my question and I was right.
