So, no need to wait until any (verified) facts come out, because the “community” lies?
Even if your numbers are accurate (the 97%), it’s worth verifying what happened before jumpting to any conclusion. conthere are approximately 400 police shootings every year. If even 3% of those are unjustified and in cold blood, that would still be still 12 civilians shot in cold blood by police officers each year. I’d rather wait until there is SOME verified information regarding the shooting before deterimining whether this is or is not one of those 12.
When a Community lies about everything, thinks its OK to lynch innocent men and women, plays knockout game at will, murders and rapes, I no longer care.
If you choose to be 100% pure in seeking the truth, even when overwhelming facts and history can guide you, no problem. My concerns will be elsewhere.
Could be, on your second part. I don’t think the first part works because it would mean that the killing shot that put Brown face down and on the ground a few feet from the cop was shot #7, which was followed by the pause and then four additional shots. If Wilson took those four additional shots after Brown was down (and likely dead) by the killing shot it opens up a whole bunch of other questions.
Yes, it’s all speculation. But still worthwhile given human nature to figure things out working in groups than alone.
“Lord willing, Ma’am, you wouldn’t have to worry about those details. Who got between you and the other driver when the accident happened in which you were a passenger?”
I know what you mean as my living situation has changed. Yes, my bodyguard was between me and the other driver. In the Brown case, Brown was not armed so my bodyguard would have made him dead or near death using one hand to do it. Bodyguard is 6 ft., 235 lbs.
That's the problem - there are NO "facts" here, on either side. If you want to judge each individual case based on history, then that's your choice. Maybe it's just my training as a lawyer and an investigator, but I'm happy to wait for the facts to come in.
In a perfect world we’d all wait for the investigation to conclude and present it’s results.
We don’t live in a perfect world. We’ve already had an eyewitness account claiming an execution, one that produced multiple nights of rioting, get proven false by an autopsy.
Other claims (Brown standing with his hands up in surrender) are easy to call into question based on the picture of Brown’s body, post shooting.
This is a battle already being waged in the court of public opinion. Which is the real world. We better darn well engage, and engage early and forcefully, because the narrative put forward by the other side will become fixed if we don’t.
Yes, that would mean the first group was sufficient and the second criminally unnecessary ... but then prosecution would have to address why the second occurred at all, and why he completely missed a stationary target at close range yet hit (6 of 7 times!) a moving target at farther range.
I’m leaning more toward it being 4 of 7 at arm, pause/assess, 2 of 4 at head. More consistent with the subgrouping of indicated impacts plus likely poorer accuracy overall.
Brown could have turned back to look at Officer Wilson as he was running. If he turned to the right, he could have been shot in the right arm. One of the wounds could have been a graze from behind according to one autopsy report. If this tape is authentic, Officer Wilson has to explain what happened, not me. There doesn’t seem to be enough of a pause for the “taunting” Officer Wilson alleges happened.
The problem, of course, is that the way things are in the real world now, both narratives become "fixed" by those who believe them. Short of a video of the shooting itself, the competing narratives are fixed. I don't think there is a fact that could come out that would convince those who believe in the "Brown standing with his hands up in surrender" narrative that this was a justified shooting. Likewise, I don't think there is any fact that could convince those who think that Brown attacked Wilson and was bum-rushing him when Wilson fired that the shooting was unjustified.
Not that I have a solution to this problem (short of "everybody calm down and wait until the investigation is complete," which is obviously unrealistic). Just pointing it out.
really, no facts yet?
I could see the lawyer in you stating that. I could see a community organizer say that too. And pretty much anyone in the media.
But not an investigator. Unless the investigator worked for the color blind DOJ.
“Take your finger and point to a target as if it were a pistol. Close one eye and then open it and close the other eye and see where you “think you are pointing your finger. You will be amazed/”
You are exactly correct. That is why my Ruger 38 special has a red laser so I won’t miss with the hollow point bullets.
“The officer fired the first volley at an unarmed fleeing man? Officer Wilson has some explaining to do.”
You should get the right information. Wilson did not fire at the giant running away. He yelled for giant to stop. Giant turned and ran toward Wilson to attack him again - Wilson fired.
KLBJ ran this clip several times during the morning shows today. A movie sound guy called in and said the gunshots sounds like they were added to the clip.
OK, then you tell me - what verified facts are out there? I see a lot of rumor, speculation, and anonymously sourced stories. What facts are out there that support Wilson’s side of the story (heck, even Wilson’s account has not been released), or that support the other side?
first shot if there was one could have been muffled because it was inside car..where was the audio taken, which side of the car and in what direction and what height above the road
Okay then the first bullet went off in the struggle for the gun, and he shot Brown with six....so seven from thirteen leaves six bullets that should have been in the gun, right?
Surely the police know whether the tape of the eleven bullets shot is accurate, or bull, right?
see post # 115 and #177...for comments answering yours also.
“They don’t want you to know.”
I would say you are right. Maybe the false info will look bad if they wait to spring the truth, I don’t know.
