The majority of Americans make the serious mistake of trying to judge the actions and intentions of “that” culture by standards we strive to live by and that have made America an exception. Look at what goes on in any sub-Saharan African country, by that scale they ain’t half so bad here.

I believe that is true. On the other hand, we only hear what the press reports out of Africa. Any peaceful endeavors would be deemed not news-worthy.

We hear of the atrocities but nothing of the people who strive to live in a peaceful family setting.

Now, do we get the atrocities here? No. Do they get the relative peace there? I doubt it. It’s hard to say what percent of the populace on the African Continent live in relative peace.

Even in the Arab states, there is a robust economy of sorts. Some folks have decent incomes and what passes for decent dwellings.

Many are dirt poor too.
