Hunger and panic are spreading among people unable to work because of restrictions aimed at containing the spread of Ebola in Liberia and Sierra Leone, say church workers in West Africa.
In Liberias capital, Monrovia, church groups are trying to get food and distribute it to families who have asked us to help, but movement is heavily restricted and there is little we can do, Salesian Father Jorge Crisafulli, provincial superior in West Africa, said in an Aug. 22 telephone interview from Accra, Ghana.
Neighborhoods in Monrovia have been sealed off under terms of the government-imposed state of emergency.
The World Health Organization has estimated that more than 2,600 people in West Africa have been infected with Ebola since March. More than 1,400 people have died from the virus.
Food prices in Liberia are rising steeply and people are hungry, Father Crisafulli said, noting that markets in the city that are usually bustling are now empty and no trading is happening.
People are unable to get to work and, while they still have to buy food, they have no money because they cant work, he said.
There is great fear of spread of disease where there are large groups of people, he said.
Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea are the countries mainly affected by the current Ebola outbreak.
Particularly in Liberia, Ebola has become an economic and social problem as well as a health problem, Father Crisafulli said, noting that panic and fear are now greater problems than the disease itself.

How To Fill Your Sales Pipeline Using Social Media
"Learn from local Baltimore business owners and experts on how to use social media to build new opportunities, make connections and maintain your customer base."
“How else do you explain posting only from a single source?”
Since I have no knowledge of his motives, and since I have no reason to think ill of him, I might speculate that these are the things that matter to him—and, indeed, to me—and so he is motivated to share them.
I feel that way myself sometimes. A couple of days ago I posted a Catholic Caucus thread regarding a 13th century prayer, knowing full well that it would be of interest only to a limited set of FR posters.
Yes.
But note your article history.. a variety of sources:

This Welchie pimp posts only from a single source.
We are just an advertising platform to her.. one for which she does not pay.
“We are just an advertising platform to her.. one for which she does not pay.”
I, for one, like those articles.
And how did we establish a financial connection between the poster and that site?
Good find.
Emma is a professional pimp.. she even gives seminars about how to pimp more effectively.
I hope she falls in a hole.

She’s on the staff.
Got a fancy title and everything.. which equals “pimp”.
What do you reckon a “Social Media Specialist” does?
Yes, and the Freepathon is almost in its third month. Has she ever contributed, I wonder, or only used FR to make money?
“What do you reckon a Social Media Specialist does?”
Okay, I will grant for the sake of argument that she is doing what you say—posting articles here to try and get hits for the site she works for.
How does Jim Robinson feel about that?

You could always axe him, I guess.
Failing that..

And now I see Shibumi just posted the same thing.
Now.. Catholic Review isn't necessarily a blog.. but it's still being pimped.
Well, it’s Jim Robinson’s opinion that decides the matter. Speaking strictly for myself, I wouldn’t think it a good thing if those posts disappeared.
It has nothing to do with the content.
This issue is the behavior of the poster.
Nothing stops you from posting any articles from there that you feel would be of interest.
That’s real.
Somebody posting everything from there because they want hits is totally different.
“Somebody posting everything from there because they want hits is totally different.”
Okay, I acknowledge that difference, but content is not irrelevant.
Isn’t she doing me a favor by pointing out these articles that I would have missed? Still, JR will decide it.
If the description of how Ebola spreads and kills doesn't give you chills nothing will!
And an Anti-Catholic douche at that
For the Greater Glory oh God......not anti-Catholic douches
Who, me? Please point out any anti-Catholic thing I've expressed.
For the Greater Glory oh God..
Yeah, well.. see.. what we're dealing with here is the greater glory of Catholic Review.
not anti-Catholic douches
I rarely frequent the feminine hygiene aisle but I'll keep an eye out for those.
Have you some specific data on these anti-Catholic douches of which you speak?
It was my way of agreeing with Vermont Lt who called you a douche.
Personally I think douches the world over are cringing when they heard that you were lumped in with them.
Douches have a generally salutatory effect on a body whereas your effect is more like an enema than a douche.
As Majoram Dei Gloriam non defecationem
Speak English or get back on the boat, homey.
Hey, humblegunner, I really like the straightforward Catholic Review articles and bookmarked that publication.
I see your point about getting hits, I assume, but in this case, it seems OK to me.
