Looks like we may see the Double-Double Whopper on the menu.

Apparently BK's owners see tax advantages in moving their HQ to Canada. Boy how times have changed.
To all- please ping me to Canadian topics.
Canada Ping!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(That is all. I only get to visit Tim’s about once or twice a year when I’m up north, but the thought of it being polluted by BK is horrifying.)

Shouldn’t it be the other way around>

IMO it sure is. Krispy Kreme donuts are wonderful when they’re warm but when they cool down they taste like congealed grease.

Well, they were owned by Wendy's for a while but they stayed true to their roots. Don't know what BK is like in the US these days, but their few remaining outlets in Canada are still quite good. Haven't been to a BK since a client introduced me to
The Burger's Priest, though. They'll be hearing my confession on Wednesday.

Burger King used to be higher quality 20 years ago. Recently I went to a Burger king and ordered a Burger. Tasted like cardboard. I kid you not. Dry. Stale.

My last BK lunch was in Toronto’s Chinatown about two years ago, still pretty good. Their only location I avoid here is Yonge Street but that’s because of the gangsta clientele, not the food.

I think KK uses a lot more shortening in their recipe than you get anywhere else, so they taste great when still hot but funny later on.

LOL when Starbucks first came here it was the beans-burnt-to-a-crisp flavour and they got nowhere. They changed it to taste like Timmy’s so they do OK now, but of course the yuppies pay 50% more for the same product.

Doesn't the Canadian anthem go,
"O Canada I really love Tim Horton's. The coffee and dough nuts, are so divine.". Like somewhere in the second verse, right?
But then again we drank a lot of Labatt's before that hockey game.
Krispy Kreme glazed dough nuts are so good hot and fresh. I got pulled over once and the cop asked "Do you know why I stopped you?" my response was "You know I've got hot Krispy Kremes, do you want one. Got off for one dough nut.". : )
Still I'd like to see them here in the Estado Unitas.

Timmies has some US locations but they never gained much traction- different consumer tastes I suppose, just as US companies that do well here all adopt Canadian practices. Tim Horton’s seems to do best near the border and in places where Canadians tend to visit; all the US Tim’s outlets I’ve seen were in New York State.
