1. Part of it is age. God blesses young couples with kids because older, wiser people couldn’t possibly handle the worry. My wife & I smother our PETS! We’d never let a kid out of our sight.
2. Good catch on the crime stats! NYC has been massaging them since Giuliani came to office. I assume other cities are learning the game. But, if you were around 40 years ago, you know that the urban situation then looks like the West Bank compared to today.
