Remember that scene in Minority Report, where Tom Cruise is on the run from the law, but is unable to avoid detection because everywhere he goes there are constant retina scans feeding his location back to a central database? Thats tomorrow. Today, Google is tracking wherever your smartphone goes, and putting a neat red dot on a map to mark the occasion.
You can find that map here. All you need to do is log in with the same account you use on your phone, and the record of everywhere youve been for the last day to month will erupt across your screen like chicken pox.

Another reason not to upgrade to a smart phone from my flip-phone.
Its one of the reasons I have no interest in a top of the line phone with all the bells and whistles. With my cheap tracfone, the tracking is minimal.
Well, Apple iOS Maps does a crappy job, but at least they don’t do that ... as far as we know.
It is part of the reason that I have a dumb phone plus iPod Touch rather than a SmartPhone.
I actually like seeing where I’ve been, and as for paranoid fantasies of drones tracking you, well, the important thing is to not have a government that does that kind of thing. There’s no going back on technology; we just have to control what it’s used for.
And that is why I went to a Trac phone, cuz they can’t track a Trac.
That’s cool . . . I’m 2,000 miles away in Palo Alto, CA. I love Palo Alto.
I’m about 5 years out from a “smartphone”....
Just checked two gmail accounts I use from my work phone, shows no data from either.
The Current FReepathon Pays For The Current Quarter's Expenses?
And if you’re really paranoid like me, you’ll throw away that Tracfone once a year and get a different one.
No doubt — they are monitoring my searches.
I searched for what Joan Rivers said about Selena Gomez and Israel and I started getting spam about Gomez and Bieber and how they broke up, got back together. Then I started getting a flood of info about other teen gossip. LOL.
I was able to stop it, though.
It happens if you have google maps app installed and tracking activated. I checked mine and my history went back two years.
DumbFones rule!
I just looked my phone up in the White pages using my name. And danged if it doesn’t show everywhere that phone has been for the last 15 years!
Dumb Phone Power!!
Im sticking to the “old” technology too
Not for me! I have no Hx.
Likewise ... it knows nothing of me. Or so it claims.
