Police in St. Louis have released a graphic video showing officers shooting a knife-wielding man Tuesday after he reportedly ignored orders to drop the weapon.
The video, taken from a cell phone of a witness, shows officers firing several shots at 25-year-old Kajieme Powell, killing him instantly. Police fired a dozen shots overall, according to NYMag.com.

KMOX AM/1120 in St. Louis said police released more details about the shooting on Wednesday. According to KMOX, Police Chief Sam Dotson said officers were called on Tuesday after Powell walked into a convenience store, took two energy drinks, exited the store without paying, and then walked back in and took a package of pastries, again leaving without paying.

There was a lengthy thread about that topic earlier this week. I suggest that you should read and comprehend it.

One weekend of hard research and you'll be up to speed. I'll take you shooting at the bullet hole in Lenexa and will bring some Title 2 NFA toys for fun.
yes I missed it and no I wouldn’t wish stabbing on anyone
Yes. He was acting erratic and tried to flank the cops before advancing toward them. The video was not clear enough to see a knife, but the guarded way he was holding and moving his right hand made me suspect he had a weapon in it.
Maybe you've never been in or around an actual violent encounter. I have-- several times. Everything this guy did was wrong when facing two armed men, let alone two armed men with the force of law protecting them.
I won't fault the cops for this shooting. He was looking for trouble and got it.
A little side note:
I would have expected a lawyer to take a couple of seconds to properly format a sentence in a public forum. Your failure to use capitalization and punctuation does not represent you well as a professional.
I do get lazy here, I admit on punctuation, but you see this is recreational for me, not work
Thanks. My point in introducing the video in #31 was to show just how quickly a guy with a knife can take people out.
In the training I had, it was emphasized that I consider any hostile person with a knife closer than 7 yards to be a potentially deadly threat, who should be shot without hesitation if he doesn't drop the knife immediately.
Shooting to wound only happens in Hollywood. And a taser was not used because the individual was wearing a hoodie and tasers need skin contact.
I don’t speak Spanish; was it some random crazy guy? Why was a news crew there?
The impression I got about the South American incident (not the St Louis incident that started this thread) was that the guy had been acting menacing for a while.
Yes, adding capital letters and punctuation is really quite hard.
Just too damned hard, and you're SO tired...
if you blow up the video to full screen, at mark 1:31 you can justbarely see the knife in the right hand
