Democrats said this race was a lock for them. A solid lock.

This was coal country too, and I guarantee that the DNC Rats will be losing sleep over the implications of Chafin’s overwhelming victory tonight.

No elected Democrats now in coal country in Virginia. Coal was the issue, and RKBA, of course.

GOP wins vacant Dem State Senate seat in VA (by a 2-to-1 landslide) to win outright control of the body.
To: AppyPappy
Cognitive dissonance. Absent the incumbent, there was no way this seat was not going Republican.

Mark Warner is worshipped here in VA. He will be in the Senate as long as he wants.

Warner leads in the polls big. GOP is pretending the race is competitive, I have to call it safe D, .
As for the State Senate, good news, this was expected.

Great news, but it was expected. It was a solidly Republican district which kept reelecting a popular moderate who’d break with his party. The best news is that the ‘Rat Party dumped a lot of money into winning this race.
