You can’t shut down Travis County’s PIU office. Why? Because its not a state agency, and any county in Texas can have one. They are created to deal with a high number of cases concerning public fraud and corruption. Austin has one because its at the center of government where a lot of those crimes take place. Harris county has one, so does Dallas county and Cameron county.

It’s like having a kidnapping division in a jurisdiction where many of those take place.

You can’t shut it down but Perry slowed it down by removing state funds.

Perry’s under INDICTMENT from cutting off half of their funding...how did he manage that, if it’s not funded by the state?
