Just because he was standing doesnt mean he wasnt injured. He may have been in shock. When I was a small child, my parents were in a terrible car accident.
When the ambulance arrived, my father was walking around the scene with a broken leg.

People these days seem to get their info of how real life happens from the media, instead of the other way around. IE, in movies no one would swim away with minimal injuries after being attacked simultaneously by two great white sharks, but IRL, that exact thing happened to Shannon Ainslee in South Africa.

I got hit in the mouth years ago at a softball game by a fly ball. Split lip, bleeding.
I guess due to shock I did not feel any pain at that point in time. Was not knocked down.
By the time I got to the hospital my mouth was hurting like hell.
Had to wear wire on my teeth (like braces) for a month afterwards and couldn't eat anything but baby/soft food and soup cause I wasn't allowed to chew.
I guess the body does some sort of protective work in the case of sudden and unexpected trauma.
