141 birds were found dead between July 2012 and December 2013 at Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, according to an April report by the National Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory obtained by KCET.
47 of those birds were killed by solar flux - heat from mirrors at the facility’s ‘power tower’ - while 24 birds were killed by impact trauma.

You should see the carnage that goes around at wind turbine plants too.
You’d think these environmental wackos want to decimate the bird population. Of course, anyone with a brain (ie, not a liberal) could have predicted this.
47 + 24 = 71
What happened to the other 70? Bird on Bird crime?....................
It is only reasonable to note that wildlife is also killed by the effects of mining and transporting fuel for more traditional types of power plants.
An actually meaningful approach would be to determine and compare the number and types of wildlife killed using Method A of generating electricity versus Method B.
And in other news, house cats across the nation and across the whole world have killed thousands or tens of thousands of birds today.
