a way to energize their base

It just might backfire. There are plenty of decent blacks who might finally say "enough" with the race baiters and those with an agenda ruining their lives. Part of the reason just might be that the invasion of the hordes over the southern border might be just one insult too many to the black community.

Yeah, I really believe that. If some conservative 'pubs get out there and deplore this rioting as an assault meant to keep blacks on the plantation, at least a percentage might be ready for law and order.

I’m sure of that. Perhaps that’s what the warning spray painted on the QT was, “snitches get stitches”? More afraid of the abuse they might get for not towing the line of the Justice Brothers?

When I lived in a mixed neighborhood in South Philly around 1990, there was a great sense of community pride among the more mature and open-minded black people. They knew the war for equality was over, and they’d won (which is good for everyone). They welcomed white people to their music concerts and other cultural events, because they believed in integration and cooperation, as well as positive ethnic pride.

That was before the hip-hop revolution and the rise of gansta thug culture. That’s where the division happened inside their own community, when the 1960s throwbacks started to attack all the progress that had been made, and re-open old wounds.

These days, I suspect the majority of older, employed, church going, and responsible black people (like the ones I knew in Philly) would prefer that cultural split had never happened. They knew that everybody was on a good road together before that nasty hip-hip sh*t came along and set integration back 30 years.
