President Barack Obama's mentor and Harvard Law professor Charles Ogletree said Darren Wilson, the officer who reportedly shot and killed Michael Brown, should be arrested.
"I think the first thing that needs to happen [is] we need to arrest Officer Wilson," he said on Meet the Press. "He shot and killed a man, shot him multiple times. And he's walking free. No one knows anything about him, no one knows why he did it. We need to have that done, number one."
Ogletree made his remarks while agreeing with substitute host Andrea Mitchell that nobody really has all of the facts regarding the shooting. Witnesses have said the officer gunned down Michael Brown in cold blood after Brown put his hands up to surrender. Another witness claimed he saw Brown "double back" and charge at the officers before he was gunned down.
Ogletree also said that the residents of Ferguson, Missouri, should learn from Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and engage in non-violent protests. Ogletree described Lewis as someone who "was beaten on the Edmund Pettus Bridge" and "was a young, nonviolent person, and still believes in nonviolence."
"I think that his message has to be listened to by not just seniors but young people who were wondering, 'What am I going to do?'" Ogletree said. "Because they're coming out. They're very angry. And they're going to be mad until something happens to make that change."

Africa sho’ look bettah from over heah’ at my hahhvahd square office with tenure and pension. Den’ i’ll go back over to ghana and see how the world really is.... for blacks on blacks in black countries. Jus’ like da’ hood. Race baiting pays... and costs.
Wonder if that is a Habitat for Humanity house they are flipping you off from?
At best, he winds up destitute, and hunted by feral blacks. Very likely he goes to prison. HE should already be in Moscow, drinking a beer and mapping out a new life, and working on his asylum paperwork.
Not surprising. Free Republic has a retired D.A. member saying the same thing.
Who would that be?
Where in the world could he go for political asylum? He’s absolutely at risk for prison to help a political agenda. I’d admire him to stay and fight. But wouldn’t blame him if he decided not to play murder trial cards with a stacked deck.
And this guy teaches at Harvard Law! Simply stunning.
Everyone lauds "Harvard Educated" in themselves or others.
How's that working out for ya?
I’m not sure if anyone saw this video of the incident? This is a video right after Michael Brown was killed. I’m sure the FBI has already scene this.
Just looking at the actual scene of the shooting with the police tape and listening (between the curse words/poor grammar) to what the witnesses are saying puts another perspective on the scene. As you can imagine it was an intense scene.
After 3 minutes or so father walks up to the body. The witnesses are saying Michael had his hands up and was still shot. Which is why the protesters keep saying hands up.
Anyhow, here is the video.

Why would a Harvard Law Professor advocate such a thing? Because he is an idiot, but I am being redundant. The Black Power structure of this country has demanded summary justice for whites involved in the misfortunes of Blacks for years. They have seen the effects of a flawed relationship between the police and local prosecutors. The prosecutor needs the police to catch criminals and preserve and collect evidence. The police need the prosecutor to protect them from the consequences of their abuse of power. As long as both are focused on crime, it’s a system that’s bad for criminals and good for the rest of us.
But, when it all goes rogue, no one is safe. Blacks believe that is what happens to them and they conveniently ignore the undeniable fact that Blacks are overrepresented in criminal populations and their culture is frequently supportive of that behavior. Do innocent Blacks get caught in the middle from time to time? Sure, but their response to that issue just makes the situation worse.
As white communities see the rogue police descending on their neighborhoods and committing crimes against them, they are less willing to support the difficult job that the police must do. Their attitude is likely to become more like that of the Black community unless we find a way to conduct an independent review and prosecution of police abuse that protects good cops and hammers the bad ones.
“No one knows anything about him, no one knows why he did it.”
Then of course, arrest him before we have any facts.
The electronic lynching has already began in earnest.
I hope the day comes when Harvard becomes just a branch campus of Liberty University or Hillsdale College. Like Berekley, Cornell, Michigan, Wisconsin and others, Harvard no longer educates, it has devolved into a communist indoctrination center. Likewise for MIT since the treasonous Noam Chomsky is Professor Emeritus there.
What kind of clown hat is that he has on?
Saying the same thing that I said or what Ogletree said?
Why have police officers at all? Obama and his minions have reigned in a new era of lawlessness. Just let the homeowners and business owners protect themselves and shoot looters, burglars, thieves, etc themselves.../s
Finally here is what the kid that was with Michael that day said happen on CNN. If what this kid is saying is true, then that cop will certainly go to federal prison.
