The feds want to perform their own autopsy on Michael Brown, the unarmed teen shot dead by local police in Ferguson, Missouri, a week ago.
"Due to the extraordinary circumstances involved in this case and at the request of the Brown family, Attorney General Holder has instructed Justice Department officials to arrange for an additional autopsy to be performed by a federal medical examiner," Justice Department spokesman Brian Fallon said in statement. "This independent examination will take place as soon as possible. Even after it is complete, Justice Department officials still plan to take the state-performed autopsy into account in the course of their investigation."

It seems to me in the Trayvon Martin case they were able to keep his toxicology results out of the trial — is that your memory — or did they use them in trial.
Why bother? Holder’s people already have reached their conclusions.

I think the video was released to prevent Holder & company from suppressing it.
I suspect the cop will still come out OK. There will be no charges against the cop. Travon's family got away with a lot of suppression of facts and evidence that was on his cell phone. In this case, the cop was responding to the robbery and it is going to be very hard to not show the tape of the robbery he was responding to. This is actually the beginning of the incident, goes a long way to demonstrate the demeanor, and the physical strength, of the thug immediately before he was shot.
Holder might not like the autopsy, but the original autopsy will come into the trial.
That cop's lawyer had better make sure that there is someone in that autopsy room to represent the cop-do not let the feds do that autopsy with only Holder's representatives present!

The state autopsy probably indicates that he was on some drug that influenced his behavior. Holder probably doesn’t want that to come out right now. That and the fact that although the officer fired multiple times, he mostly missed Brown, possibly intentionally missed him.
it would be terrible for the race baiters if the poor gentle giant died of an overdose or heart attack not a gunshot wound...
