FERGUSON, Mo. After another night of chaos in a St. Louis suburb roiled by protests over the police killing of Michael Brown, one shooting victim is in critical condition and seven are under arrest.
Capt. Ron Johnson of the Missouri Highway Patrol said early Sunday a large force was deployed amid a curfew and protests in Ferguson after police received a report that a person had been shot.
Officers had learned through intelligence sources that a group of armed protesters were holed up in a barbecue restaurant. By the time police arrived, the shooting victim, whom Johnson did not identify, had been taken to a hospital by protesters. The victim is in critical condition, he said.
Tear gas was fired, Johnson said, after officers spotted a man with a handgun in the middle of the street. The man fled and was not caught, and officers did not arrest any armed protestors. However, seven people were arrested and charged with failure to disperse, he said.
A shot was also fired at a police car, Johnson said, though his staff had yet to determine whether the vehicle was hit. Its unclear who fired the shot....

The fact that store tapes show "St Michael" starting to leave the store ,after the theft ,
and then turn around ,come back ('bum rush')and threaten/grab the neck of the smaller employee/ by-stander before leaving the store.
This makes all the more likely that following the assault on the police officer in his vehicle
that "St. Micheal" attempted to come back ('bum rush') the police officer as hapened at the store.
As just stated : 'The best indicator of human behavior, is previous behavior !'
The cop didn’t call in the “incident” didn’t call the EMTs, shot multiple times back and front, and now you say he is telling the truth? He actually is saying nothing, I assume he is lawyered up and awaiting being charged.
The cell-phone videos from the neighbors make that extremely clear. (Body face down toward officer, white shirt with no blood marks on the back, obvious bleeding from the head and upper torso).
The cell-phone videos were made by residents who hate the cops. If there was evidence that the officer had killed MB as he was running away, they would have spotted it. Check them out - they are still posted on Youtube.
Audio from the police car has already been leaked, although not officially released. It supports the officer's version of events.
Personal acquaintances of the officer have leaked his story.
The robbery committed by MB and DJ just prior to the shooting explains their reactions when stopped by a cop a few minutes later.
The officer called in the incident and left the scene to get medical treatment for his own injuries - and also to get away from an increasingly hostile gathering of residents.
Since being publicly identified, the officer has fled his home and is in hiding. He is most certainly not going to make any public statements to a hostile press or anyone else, given the utterly toxic political climate.
The preponderance of information (not "facts" mind you) tends to favor the police story.
I don't assume that police are ever telling the truth any more - especially when violent confrontations with blacks happen. Having said that, this still looks like a justified shooting.
What, so many bullet holes in the Ferguson cop cars they don't know which one is a fresh one?
Perhaps they should get a marker and date each one... /S
My comment from another thread;
The shoplifting video has no connection to Browns police interaction that resulted in his death.
Balogna! He was a punk, feelin his oats after strong-arming a shop owner. He was a belligerently striding down the middle of the street, proudly affirming his masculinity and blackness. I figure when he saw the cop, he thought he was gonna be busted for his strong-arm robbery, and he went haywire! Too bad toxicology takes so long! Ill bet he was as high as a kite!
