They didnt call the police, they didnt ask the police to come and take the video
In a more civil time, they would have been paying "Vinnie" a weekly allowance for "protection"......

The evidence is suggestive. Nobody is just an American any more. Anyone who insists on the plain identifier must be a secret bigot. You are a [modifier][-][American]. In fact, Forbes noted that the number of Americans renouncing United States citizenship or terminating long-term residency is on a record pace. And why not? The unadorned term American is being drained of meaning; what value there is lies in the prefix, not in the suffix. The author of this piece is guilty of obfuscating the truth here. In reality, while the rates are rising, the absolute numbers are still miniscule (i.e., on the order of thousands of persons per year). I dare say that, per capita, fewer Americans are renouncing their citizenship than in any other Western country. And the primary reason is to be found in America's onerous tax laws (the U.S. is practically the only country which requires its citizens living long-term abroad to pay taxes on their foreign income).
Regards,

>>I thought I heard that it WAS looted.
You did.
“Just before midnight, some in what had been a large and rowdy but mostly well-behaved crowd broke in a convenience store that police accused 18-year-old Michael Brown of robbing minutes before he was fatally shot by an officer, and began looting it, said Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson.”

assuming they feel it is profitable to stay open at all, why would any store in that combat zone keep any significant inventory in the store?
it is impossible to do business with lawless mobs

Now, the Ferguson Market owners are hoping the video wont make them a target. Good luck.
Before the 'problem'; they had things that others wanted; so THAT 'made them a target'.
Now others will be upset because they didn't 'share' properly; so they are now a BIGGER target.
Welcome to America!

Another view: This shows how far behind the public is on the real story line. The shop owner, knows the truth, in real time, that this is about thuggery and he needs to be out of the picture and on extended vacation. He knew this when we were just hearing about the ‘innocent child that was murdered by the brutal cop’.
Much like the politicians control the news story line. While we were hearing there was an incident in Benghazi, the WH had already prepared the ‘video excuse’ and were preparing the 3rd generation story line.

Where is the world going? Who is going to lead it? Well...
Revelation 13:1-8
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Any and all Belmont Club articles need to be read in full.
Almost always Wretchard started an article (most times ‘must read’ by itself), but the best and meaty part is in the comment sections with old regulars and Wretchard participating.

A nation requires a shared culture and language. If you don’t have that, you have an Empire at best. Empires fail when the cultures demand to go their own way.

The Left for its part, has done its level best to multiply the hyphens while simultaneously trying to increase the size and power of the central state. They little realized or perhaps they realized all too well, that a program of cultural fragmentation combined with growing central power is the high road to dictatorship. You can have cultural diversity and a strong central government but not both not unless its headed by a Sultan or an Emperor. Elite liberals are attempting to turn the United States into one more hellhole. You know that finnegan, right?

I’m tired of paying for my local police department to babysit the black community.
And yeah, most city police departments spend the majority of their resources and time in the ‘black community’...
Blacks can pay for their own protection - and so should the rest of us. Charge by the city block and tack the cost onto people’s electric bills.
My water bill isn’t the ‘average’ of me and the liberal elite blowhard who spends more heating his swimming pool than I spend heating my house. It wouldn’t be fair that way. Same with paying for police protection.

The national myth of the 1950s was that America could be different from the old country.

Many excellent points here, but this one just breaks my heart. I remember an America in which political corruption was the exception to the rule.

No, evil scheming has let that filthy foot in; the spirit of American altruism just provided the means.

that’s Wretchard’s style. you have to float along for the
key quotes; sometimes these are in the comments (his comments,
wretchard, lc.)
There’s a quite good commentariat there too. That’s one
reason I read it fairly regularly.

synopsis: whatever your view on the death of Michael Brown,
the Ferguson and St. Louis police changed a tense situation
into a disaster; full on “militarization”
(see my earlier on the stand down also)
