The kid, however, was acutely aware of his involvement and may have been a contributing factor in his initial interaction with the cop.
If he was unarmed and news accounts are fairly accurate, then an unarmed kid was murdered and his skin color doesn’t seem to be an over riding issue in this case.

All those stats about blacks getting stopped more, and arrested more. Anybody see some other color rioting, burning, and looting.
Police shooting an unarmed individual is not good no matter the color, but how about some stats on how many unarmed black men have been killed by other black men? We all know that is the main cause of death of young black men.
How about the fact that the so called spontaneous demonstration had pre printed signs with the same message. A good investigative reporter might actually try to find out who is fominting the unrest.
We know now, that much of the violence and rioting of the 60s was instigated by communists working with groups such as the black panthers, hoping to start a race war here. Wonder who is trying that trick today?
Obviously we good journalism in the national media today is sparse. Most would apparently play the game of blame America first-especialy white America.

You can’t solve a problem until you define it correctly. It isn’t a problem of “race”, i.e. any race. It is a specific race, blacks vs any other race... white, indian, korean, chinese. There is no significant race problem among the other races.
This is analogous to the “war on terror”, where we use a euphemism instead of calling the enemy by the real name and so we end up like Don Quixote fighting windmills.
The problem was identified and correctly analyzed decades ago by Herrnstein and Murray in their vilified book “The Bell Curve”.
Anyone with half a cent of integrity looking at the real world (anywhere in the real world) and then reading “the Bell Curve” would have to agree that it does a superb job of explaining what we see in the world.
It is truly tragic that such is reality, because the problem is unbelievably difficult to solve, with few if any palatable options to choose from. What Herrnstein and Murray suggested they were demonized and ostracized for.
Instead, the solution we’ve opted for - the easiest one but the one sure to fail is one of appeasement, is one of low expectations, of toleration of group behavior that would not be tolerated for any other group, of lower standards, of affirmative action, of quotas, of payoffs in return for some peace and quite, of looking the other way and pretend that we don’t see what’s in front of our eyes, eager to invent narratives that fly in the face of reality.
But reality is a tough taskmaster. We ignore it at our own peril. We may be buying some time by telling ourselves lies, but we’re also buying bigger problems.
What exactly is the racial divide in this country? Whites have been oppressing Blacks in this country? Is that the divide? Blacks have been propagandized into believing that Whites oppress them? Who promotes this? All the race action in this country is within the Black community. Everyone else is too busy trying to make ends meet.
All the problems seem to be found within the orbit of government and who promotes larger and larger government?
