Ferguson police released the name of the officer that fatally shot 18-year-old Michael Brown, while also revealing that Brown was a suspect in a convenience story robbery over a $48.99 box of cigars.
It’s not those people that I’m talking about. It’s the ones who excuse the policeman completely before the facts are in. And it looks bad. He might be exonerated at some point, but right now, it looks like he shot a stupid petty thief, maybe even one who was trying to give up.
One day it’s going to be us. I am not ignoring all the murders and attacks and shooting and break ins by the cops. I’m sorry. This officer is going to have to prove he didn’t murder this Michael person. I’m not pretending the man was innocent or even law abiding. Just that it doesn’t look at all like he deserved to be shot down in the street.
And the looters were just criminals and villains. Stinking vermin.
Not cry, but sad. Why are you laughing at the death of a young man who made mistakes, but didn’t do anything worthy of being murdered???
Would you laugh if the police fastened on me, maybe I refused to comply with some demand.something, anything. And they shot me down in the street.
What if I wasn’t perfect and had done REALLY dumb, but not horrendous things. Well, I have, more in my youth than now, but still.
Would you laugh then?
What if I told you that I’m black, I bet you’d laugh then if I got shot down in the street. That is sad.
Well now finally someone comes up with some possible explanation. I don’t see it, but at least you tried. Thank you
Thank you Boycott
good. that’s better than nothing I suppose. Although I must say, a dead son is a dead son.
They left the liquor store and were headed to the QuickTrip. That must be where the confusion comes from. I’ve looked on streetview and did a search for Ferguson Market and Liquor and the only result was 10+ miles from where this all went down so that doesn’t fit the timeline, especially since they were walking. The QuickTrip that was burned is right around the corner from Canfield street where he was shot so the liquor store had to be right there somewhere but I can’t find it unless it’s a new building.
If they went from A) being the liquor store, B) toward the QuickTrip and C) Canfield where he was shot, then the liquor store would have to be in the block north of the QuickTrip but there are neighborhood homes there. The only other commercial lot for the liquor store would be the car wash across the street.
Lots of “ifs” But a lot of FReepers are calling him a worthless POS and other things. Glad he’s dead, laughing even.
I can be wrong about what I surmise. But those FReepers are also wrong, and in a worse way.
I don’t claim the officer was a horrible cop, I simply don’t know (although I read from the police that he didn’t have any complaints against him)
But there are those that vilify the big young man in the worst possible way, first thing. Well he was black, I suppose that’s enough. I can’t call anyone racist, it’s too overused, but I can sure see the writing on this wall.
The msm said that he didn’t have an ADULT record. ‘Course being 18 he had just become an “adult” on his birthday.
I was addressing the poster, not in general, but in what looks like he didn’t like the man because ...I assumed, that’s true, that he was black. Did you read the post I replied to? you should.
Maybe I shouldn’t have written “murdered” That’s not established.
So many threads flying around, I got lost. I see why you said what you did. I still don’t like either the “murdered” (trial-by-lynch-mob, led by an assortment of race pimps, gimme-something’s, and smug useful idiots), or the race card (insulting to the very people it is trying to advocate for, in my opinion). I am not sorry he is dead, nor I am I happy. I genuinely couldn’t care less. Maybe he would have really turned his life around, but I doubt it. I have known many like him, black, white, and hispanic (no Asians, yet), and they usually leave a trail of ruined lives in their wake. But being gleeful over his death isn’t warranted.
Are people who shot in the back mutiple time typically able to turn arounaround and hold up.their hands?
Any ‘injustice’, real or imagined, is the mob’s cue for a looterfest.
Yes, I saw the pictures. I guess it's not uncommon these days for a misdemeanor hand-slap offense like petty theft to escalate into felony assault. Honestly, I was just sort of surprised that those nasty cigars were that pricey.
$200 for a felony.
You hollow it our and stuff it full ot dope. My daughter manages a store she gave me som small empty cigar boxes abiut 5-6 years ago. The box that held the Grape Favor ones still smells like grape.
I care surprisingly little myself. But I do care if, IF, the officer shot him down for no reason, or not reason enough. And that’s because I don’t want it happening to me one day, if an officer gets trigger happy, or overly nervous, or he feels disrespected. or anything. It happens so often nowadays! Too often.
People are jumping to conclusions, acting like I’m supporting the man or something. No, I’m just also not supporting the cop (yet) I hope it turns out to be some understandable reason that he meted out the death penalty and for more than a $49 box of cigars (that he didn’t even know the man had stolen)
I would say I’m not on any side here! Every side looks horrible and it’s all just a MESS.
Oddly enough, I’m usually on the other side, the “let em die” side. You should have heard me over Channon Christian and her boyfriend, can’t remember his name this minute, which is sad.
I just want to be careful of letting police shoot anyone without good excuse. I am emphatically against militarization and aggression of law enforcement
My question is, can we combine Travon’s and Michael’s birthdays into a single national holiday, or should we have a separate holiday for each of them?
