What state is this in? Unless it can be PROVEN that my life or someone else's was in immediate jeopardy - I have no authority to shoot an unarmed person outside of my home. I will be charged.
If it is shown that a perp was unarmed, and I shot the perp while he was robbing a neighbor's home - and killed him - I will be charged with murder.
Those are facts… at least in my state and is covered extensively in any CCL course you take. The threshold for legally using deadly force, is very narrow. Self defense has to be demonstrated - unless the perp is INSIDE your own home.
I live in the Hornet’s Nest. Should be easy for you to figure out where I live by first sentence.
The cop involved may not be black after all. It would be nice if someone had clarified this during the press conference.

Why did the kid run?? That makes no sense...especially if he was hit. I’ll reserve some of my thoughts for lack of information. But I have the feeling this is going to be similar to Trayvon fiasco.
If he’s black, there’s a good chance that the cop is pretty well known among the blacks and that he knew this “baby” before toady....and knew him well.

Yes, but the 'shooter' wasn't a citizen, he was a police officer who had been assaulted.
His last words were that he couldn’t breathe.
When you have a cop ontop of you squeezing your windpipe suffocation happens.
And when you deprive oxygen to your heart heart attacks happen.
Four to six shots?? Maybe count what’s left?? And how many were warning shots?
And we’ll hear more b*tching from the “black community” about food deserts and lack of stores, jobs in the hood. Even though one “black community” ran a Whole Foods store out its hood, because white people might frequent it or begin gentrifying.
Shades of George Zimmerman...and it took a long time to mention that the cop had abrasions etc.

If he actually believed that the kid had just robbed the store then he would have to know that he is dangerous and not to be engaged without back-up especially if he is 6-4 and 290.
It’s police SOP in departments across the country to call for backup.
It’s funny how heart attacks, bullet holes, tazer burns, etc, never happen to suspects that carefully follow police orders. Refusal to submit to authority is always a recipe for disaster.
