Let’s be honest about two things:
1. These rioters and looters don’t care about Michael Brown. They wouldn’t care if he said he was the second coming of Jesus and commanded them to stop and be peaceful. They just want free stuff and it’s a great opportunity to get free stuff.
2. None of us know what happened that led to the incident. But you have to look at motive and agenda When listening to one side of the story. I don’t think that this LEO woke up that morning And said I am going to go shoot somebody today And make myself a target for Al Sharpton and the entire national media. But the first law of human survival is CYA. A young man is dead so anything that that the shooter says has to be taken with a huge grain of salt. He has an incentive to lie. But the fact that he didn’t embellish his report with wild accusations that he was attacked with a machete and nunchucks and concrete dildo and had to shoot to defend his own life makes him believable.
If you're referring to the officer involved statement, I'd like to see. Got link?
yes...I’m not in disagreement here just a little worried about the proliferation of these types of units.
I don't know why not.
They have all the witness statements, they have a ton of physical evidence, blood, GSR, spent casing, bullet wounds, a body etc..
Considering the above, I cannot imagine what's holding up the completion of the investigation.
This shouldn't be too complex to determine what happened and if someone is providing inconsistent statements etc..
A guy named Dorian Johnson was with Mike Brown when this happened. I posted a link to a YouTube video of his account of the incident on the first breaking news thread.
Since then he has spoken directly to the media. And what bothers me about him is that his story has changed. He said in the video that Brown was wearing flip flops and so couldn’t run. Pictures of Brown’s body in the street clearly show that he was not wearing flip flops. In the video he said nothing about the cop putting a choke hold on Brown. He’s since added that to his story. In the video he says the cop walked up to Brown while Brown was lying on the street and fired four more times. That has since disappeared from his story.
In my experience, eyewitness testimony is most accurate right after an incident and while details may be massaged somewhat in subsequent re-tellings or some insignificant details added, generally speaking, true stories don’t change much. Not so with Dorian Johnson.
I hope the FBI uses the tried-and-true tactic of having Johnson tell his story backwards to filter out his embellishments. Just like watching someone’s eyes move up and to his left when he’s recalling an actual event or up and to his right if he’s lying, having him tell events from end to beginning reveals the truth unless he is a pathological liar.
