The continuing crisis in Ferguson, Mo., has everyone talking about police militarization again. So while were on the topic, have a look at the horrifying video above from Doraville, Ga. The video depicts a SWAT training operation for a downed officer. At least as of this writing, the video was posted on the front page of the Doraville Police Department Web site.
The audio and effects were added by a YouTube user who goes by Patriotsix6. He uploaded the video in 2009. The images at the beginning and end are from The Punisher, the fictional character described by Wikipedia as a vigilante who employs murder, kidnapping, extortion, coercion, threats of violence, and torture in his war on crime. The audio is the song Die Motherf-r Die by 'Dope'.
Doraville is a town of about 8,500 people, in the northeast suburbs of Atlanta...

serious question for you.
So let me understand what you think.
If a bank situation occurs and there are robbers holding hostages should SWAT be ready or should we call the national Guard.
What part of “they posted it on the department website” do you not understand.
And you are a credulous fool if you think that was a coincidence.
Read the thread about who took it down, and who edited the music.
If the cops did wrong then fine you have a point.
ROFLOL. So was the Battle of Stalingrad, then. This little team could have ended the battle quickly!
Do you seriously believe that these guys could have stopped a trained, well-armed platoon sized element?
Were you in our army or one in South America?
But sitting there typing out Lies will gain no points for you.
You said that I didn't want officers. I want you to point where I said that.. Please.
A Vet who has seen friends get blown up so you want to call me punk over the internet then go for it but I it shows what you are.
Not my fault you can’t read Sarc
They only took it down when the blowback from Balko’s column in the WAPO got them undesired attention.
Doesn’t change the fact that they posted it on their dept website in the first place. They did that, not the editor.
And you can bet they didn’t just “find” a tarted up version of their own training video on the internet and say “cool, lets use that instead” by coincidence.
Then if they are the facts then it was a stupid move.
I myself would not get all bent out of shape over it though, it seems some do , and fair enough to them.
Interesting pro-cop/anti-cop discussion here. The fact that this discussion/argument is taking place reveals that many conservatives are now becoming more anti-police than liberals. Although this conversation is focusing on the militarization of local police, I think the subtext is probably the view of many conservatives that government is now - sometimes quite explicitly, as with the Obama administration and some governors and some mayors - their sworn enemy.
But you are right. If the police department had this on their website it was very bad judgment.
“I don’t rely on cops for my security or safety. There is no situation that can’t be made worse by calling them.”
I somewhat agree. We need some police protection. We don’t need an army of police with drones and tanks even if you live in a high crime area. Ask your local jurisdiction how much (%)of your tax obligation goes to fund an entity that you and many law abiding citizens may not have had any contact with in years. Is it worth a $2000 a year or more to have police protection?
A few of these APC per town aren’t going to amount to much when it finally comes down to and all out Donnybrook between Tories and Patriots.
The fact that a town of 8500 has a dozen man SWAT team with automatic weapons and an APC...and are ANXIOUS to use them.
What could go wrong? I'm certain all members have been through the most strident psych eval and conditioning...and are expertly disciplined.
At least it wasn't "Let The Bodies Hit the Floor."
Wow! How exciting to watch Navy SEALs in action. Oh, these are wannabees. My mistake.
Anyone ever notice how much more importance cops put on their own, than they do on us? Need cops to respond quickly? Just say I think they shot a cop.
All of a sudden, all those cops too busy to protect you will suddenly have nothing better to do than race to your location.
Its what rage monkeys do.
Tell the truth, that vid made your throat tickle way down deep.
