My tastes aren't quite as eclectic as yours. I grew up in the 60s, and college and a tour in Germany broadened my musical horizons during the 70s. As I lived off-base, I basically went without TV for four years.

Much of the sparse free time I had was mixing cassettes. Saw Elton John & Billy Joel in Frankfurt, and listened to Radio Luxembourg every day at work.

Best concert? That's a tough one, but I'll go with Spyrogyra in El Paso, where I had front row seats. Also saw the Stones in El Paso.

A movie I strongly recommend is "Still Crazy", a mockumentary about a British 70s rock bank called Strange Fruit. They get together for a comeback tour in the late 90s, with a great cast: Timothy Spahl, Billy Connelly, and Stephen Rea.

Our travels last year took us to Memphis, where we spent a few hours at Sun Studio. My 12 YO son paid close attention during the tour. Before school ended, he corrected his drama teacher on Blue Suede Shoes. The teacher told the class that Elvis wrote it, but he politely corrected her, saying it was written by Carl Perkins. lol
