Gee, I guess we have to throw out “data from observation” to salvage the modelers’ egos.

Simply put -

Physical data is contradicting the models.

In most any other scientific discipline that would make everyone throw out the models and come up with new ones.

Apparently in this one the models trump data.
Thats insanity of course.

However, the researchers stress that their recent study does not change the evidence of human impact on global climate beginning in the 20th century.

Nope. It sure doesn't. It was BS before, and it is still BS.

“The question is, ‘Who is right?’” Liu said. “Or, maybe none of us is completely right. It could be partly a data problem, since some of the data in last year’s study contradicts itself. It could partly be a model problem because of some missing physical mechanisms.”

This guy is looking to compromise the science for an agenda as the science will probably take another thousand years to finally present a truth based on scientific fact.

You don’t compromise fact with BS just because you have a schedule to keep.

Is our climate cooling down or warming up?

A mere 10,000 years ago, there was a mile thick glacier covering Buffalo, NY.

So I'm voting that, since then, the climate warmed up enough to force the retreat of the glacier.

Is it still warming? Empirical evidence says not, but we may be in an interglacial period. Geologic evidence in NY State shows two interglacial periods and three glaciated periods.

All evidence besides this has been wiped out, probably by previous glaciers.

I thought 97% of climate scientists agreed the science is settled.

Liberals MUST attribute any "climate change" to human activity putting out CO2. This gives them the basis to control and even ban fossil fuels and give the government more control. The models that attributed increasing temperature to increases in CO2 seemed ideal. However, for a decade and a half the trend has been a decrease in global temperatures. It is hard to convince people that they soon may be inundated by melting polar ice, bake from much hotter summers and have more hurricanes and severe storms when we are seeing the coldest temperatures in decades.

True science would have long ago rejected the CO2 driven global warming theory because the actual data increasingly does not fit the projected model. However, man caused climate change driven by CO2 levels is too convenient for the liberals goal of more government control and thus cannot be abandoned. To hold on to this means of control global warming has been renamed "climate change", every sophistry must be used to explain why the earth is cooling not warming as predicted and anyone who gives evidence or questions the global warming theory is called a "denier" and is smeared as a tool of big oil etc. Even the release of the East Anglia e-mails that show absolute fraud by the global warming crowd have been whitewashed by the press.

Unfortunately it may be Obama who finally puts the nail in the global warming coffin. His reckless executive orders and new EPA rules will assure that electric rates will skyrocket and the price of gasoline will go up. Perhaps even the low information crowd will see the fallacy of global warming when they are shivering in their darkened homes.

The latest study proves that more research may be needed to determine exactly what sort of trends impacted our planet in the past.

No, no, no. We need taxpayer money to pay these climatologists more NOW. We need to expand their staff and give them power to regulate NOW. These control freaks want power to control our lives NOW. Not after more research.

“Data from observation says global cooling. The physical model says it has to be warming.”

Answer: the models are doodoo. Toss the models and start over. And, BTW, don't claim anything until you have predictable results. Otherwise, you look like a fool.

Is the climate either cooling or warming? After a look at the data and geological record, the answer is a resounding — Yes!

Generally, it is best to go with the lie that is supported by the latest weather situation. For a hurricane it should be global warming. For a snowstorm it should be global cooling. It can get tricky sometimes when it it snowing up North and a hurricane hits at the same time which requires segmentation of the global warming or cooling claims by area to ensure there is not conflict.

There was a big ice age. Covered part of the USA and Europe. Went away by itself. No human help.

The climate is always changing. There are warming trends followed by cooling trends. They are beyond human control. Get used to it.
