That’s dangerous thinking. You’re saved or you’re not. The bible is clear on how you’re saved. It doesn’t matter how much your life sucked or did not suck on earth.
Either he knew Jesus as his own personal savior or didn’t. Given the way he checked out... well you can finish that thought.
Yet, you don’t know. I wish I had a dime for every Christian who later claimed to have become “really Saved”.

Have no idea of what the man believed. Do hope and believe that God is a compassionate and loving father who knows the suffering of the broken. Never will I try to guess the mind of God but instead be his humble servant.
