The Washington Post ^ | 8-11-14

NEW YORK — The question from a fan in a Sirius XM interview last year was innocent — what do you think you’d be doing if you didn’t become a comedian? — and within seconds Robin Williams was impersonating physicist Stephen Hawking getting a lap dance at a strip club.

“Reagan was pretty good at telling the truth”. Reagan was also smart enough to know when to keep his mouth shut. Like, for instance, taking jabs at the recently deceased. Reagan had class. You have none.

Groupthink is rampant in Hollywood, Williams was just another typical celebrity in that regard.

Believe me, there is a LOT of pressure on celebrities to be PC. That means you must bash all conservatives and Republicans, especially Sarah Palin, if you’re going to be in “the club.”

Let God judge the man. It’s safer and much easier. For all we know Robin may have had a moment of regret and repentance before death and asked forgiveness. God is merciful.

Who’s judging?!

Pointing out that he just inflicted eternal and excruciating pain on his own family, those he professed to love, is important to do as others see his suicide and think that is the way.

Granted, he was a funny man but the “funny man” was an enemy of the free people of America by using his influence and money to take our rights away in support of the Democrats.

So now you’re calling our troops stupid? They were too stupid to realize they were cheering Americas enemy? Gee, too bad you weren’t there to “properly” educate them.

I don’t recall Charlton Heston getting so many accolades from Hollywood when he passed away. I attribute that to his involvement with the NRA.

The Vietnam soldiers loved Jane Fonda too. That was my generation.

Guess how she got the name “Hanoi Jane?”

Were they stupid? At that time prior to her turning into a traitor she was loved. After that, she was despised.

The same applies to your hero. He entertained the troops and then gave full support to our Marxist President (the enemy).

Because Palin is still alive and Williams is dead. In a polite society we give people a bit of a moratorium on getting slammed right after they die.

All of the armchair Jesus’s in here. The guy had a lot of problems and reached his breaking point. EVERYONE has a breaking point. No exceptions. But the self-righteous in here will keep on hating.

The hypocrisy on this thread is overwhelming.

I agree with your post.

His ability to make people laugh doesn’t turn him into a saint at death. I will not join in the over-the-top glorification of a man in pain who chose to leave his family in pain.

I suspect they never mentioned the fact that Heston was at the 1963 March on Washington MLK Speech, like they went out of their way to mention about James Garner when he passed.

Yes, everyone has a breaking point....Williams found his.

Hopefully members of his family won’t reach theirs because of his actions yesterday.

No one here is pretending to be Jesus. What they are doing is refusing to be hypocrites.

Mention of the March on Washington turns up in Heston's NY Times and LA Times obits, but not in Garner's. CNN and the Washington post claim Garner helped organize the March. That sounds like an overstatement.

Gee his suicide took a lot of guts. I bet his loved ones are feeling a lot of pride in him right now.
