Thank God. Humanity can’t stand by and watch genocide.
Soooo, if Russians with the Chi Rho on their body armor move in and fight ISIS in Iraq is it called an evil Russian invasion or just what the doctor ordered?
bkmk
Let’s see how long the Pope can keep his cajones before we confirm his change of heart. He’s peddled a lot of Leftist drivel these last few years; his statement may be a genuine “waking-up”, or it may be desperately pandering to the few sane Catholics who remain.
Francis, if you commit to an unequivocal slaughter of these Muslim swine (and use actions to back up your words), your Church may yet be saved. We could use a strong Catholic Church to stamp out Islamist and secularist rot out of the world.
Keep Calm...
And Crusade on...
Wow... lock and load.... Praise da lord and pass the ammo!
I’ll volunteer. But only if I get to write the rules of engagement.
Kill all members of ISIS even if they surrender. Give their weapons to the Christians and teach them to use them.
I’ve never heard of anything like this. This pope is famous for being misquoted though.
Don’t wait for Obama to chime in.
So, is this the green light for a new Crusade? When I was in HS, our mascot was a Crusader!
The Crusaders was provoked, too.
I have seen a number of stories which attribute this quote to Chaldean Patriarch Louis Sako of Baghdad, articles dated August 7.
"The central Iraqi government appears incapable of protecting its citizens," THE PATRIARCH said, "and there is no cooperation or coordination with the regional government."
"The Islamic State fighters, he [Sako] said, are taking advantage of the power vacuum to impose their rule and terror. There is a need of international support and a professional, well-equipped army. The situation is going from bad to worse."
etc.

All of these articles apparently trace back to one source: a story by Cindy Wooden of the Catholic News Service (LINK). All of them use "Pope" in the headline, but all of them attribute the "armed" quote to Chaldean Patriarch Louis Sako of Baghdad, who is the Catholic Bishop of Baghdad.

"Beirut: Boutros Harb, long-serving Maronite Lebanese Member of Parliament, is standing for president and reaching out to the Shiite Hezbollah, across the political divide in the country.
[...]
"I have proposed that the Lebanese army and government must be in control of declaring war, and that we should find a way to incorporate Hezbollah's forces into the army. But this has to be on the condition that the Lebanese government and army accept the full duty of being ready to fight and protect Hezbollah if Israel attacks," he said, adding that it was also important that Lebanon had to liberate the occupied territory of the Sheba'a Farms from Israel."

"The ship is sinking and all of us, the Lebanese, should stick together and work together to stop the Israeli aggression," Amin Gemayel, a Maronite Christian who served as president from 1982 to 1988, told the Arabic-language TV station Al-Jazeera . . . Michel Aoun, a one-time commander in Lebanon's 15-year civil war who now serves in parliament, said . . . "I don't think that Israel has the capability to destroy Hezbollah militarily because Hezbollah is not a group of armed men," Aoun said. "Hezbollah is a major part of the Lebanese social fabric."
Absolutely.
The Commandment DOES NOT SAY “Thou shalt not KILL”. It says “Thou shalt not MURDER” (which is the malicious taking of the life of an innocent!).
Those who assault and MURDER innocents may be KILLED with impunity as it is an a fully justified act of SELF DEFENSE!
Let THAT killing begin!
