Now they've both been indicted: The undercover cop and the trained security officer who shot him in a Coon Rapids road-rage incident last summer.
On Thursday, an Anoka County district judge unsealed a grand jury indictment against Robbinsdale undercover narcotics officer Landen Beard, 27, of Coon Rapids, for terroristic threats, a felony.
Records obtained Thursday by the Pioneer Press offer the most detailed narrative to date - as well as conflicting accounts - of events June 7.
A potential key witness told police she saw Beard hanging out of the unmarked sedan he was driving, screaming, ''I'll (expletive) kill you. ... I don't care about jail," according to those police records.
On Wednesday, Martin Scott Treptow, 35, also of Coon Rapids, who shot Beard, was indicted on the same charge as well as drive-by shooting and reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality.

99% of cops make the rest look bad.
I guess the good news is that no actual “civilians” were harmed in the making of this fiasco.
I sure as hell would not start a gun battle with my wife and kids in the car. This leads me to believe that the undercover officer did draw his weapon first. Perhaps the undercover officer had been sampling some of the product that undercover officers confiscate from coke dealers.
What a cruel and unfair remark! Everyone knows it couldn't be much more than 85-86%. I can prove it. 14-15% of cops are on paid administrative leave ... or disability.

.....undercover officer had been sampling some of the product that undercover officers confiscate from coke dealers.
This "sampling" as you call it, is necessary to identify the contraband in the field, where lab facilities are scarce. Furthermore, it allows the horribly dressed undercover cops ... who never identify themselves lest they "blow" their cover ... to blend in with traffickers.
Naturally, in the booming and sophisticated metropolis of Coon Rapids, this can lead to confusion.Tremendous stress is evident here. Suggest Officer Beard go on paid administrative leave and be enrolled in Anger Management Classes at the "Y."
Ha, ha!
In Coon Rapids?
The Robbinsdale police chief recently resigned after he was caught in a prostitution sting.
Lol!
