Several GOP 2016 presidential hopefuls made public appearances in Iowa Saturday, including Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz who told conservatives to remain optimistic going into the next election cycle. During a speech at the Iowa state fair, Mr. Cruz told listeners that conservatives would take back the country from President Obama and Democrats, just as they did when Jimmy Carter was president, The Hill reported.
All across this country, people are waking up, Mr. Cruz said. And theyre waking up to bring America back to the principles we have been founded on. There is a better way than the path we are on. ....
It reminds you of a new diet thats really quite popular in Washington these days, Mr. Cruz said after joking about a cow sculpted from butter at the fair. Its called the Obama diet. You just let Putin eat your lunch every day.

I don’t blame anyone for feeling negatively about the way this country is going. I have always been an optimist, though. Nothing stays the same; we will absolutely take this country back. It’s the right thing to do.

Bold statement, Ted. Love ya man, but I has my doubts. The LIVs have not felt sufficient pain yet.
Unless, of course, that is what you are alluding to....

It is true that nothing stays the same - the thing is - we have finite life spans and our lot is now.

Undoubtedly the establishment wing of his party does not agree. They, like the liberal Democrats, fight against conservatives.

Looking back is always 20-20. But the damage done by Jimmy Carter is but a piffle compared to the evil nobama.

We will have to write Ted in. No way will the liberals who control the Republican Party back him for President. They're gushing over Jeb or some other liberal.
To: grimalkin
we will absolutely take this country back.If we do, then we should do to them what they propose to do to us...and make sure that they will never be ascendant again.
