The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday ramped up its response to the expanding Ebola outbreak, a move that frees up hundreds of employees and signals the agency sees the health emergency as a potentially long and serious one.
The CDCs level 1 activation is reserved for the most serious public health emergencies, and the agency said the move was appropriate considering the outbreaks potential to affect many lives. The CDC took a similar move in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and again in 2009 during the bird-flu threat.

My position is and has been from the beginning, we should not have brought them into the states. I thought that, heard Eric Bolling get hammered for it by a big gang up just like this one, and then heard from a prominent Johns Hopkins pediatric neurosurgeon and a public figure, dr Carson that I am in good company. We have the same opinion for tge exact reason
Someone brought up the military for whatever reason as if it’s the saw and it never is
I assisted at Mass today, the Feast of the Transfiguration, had a bible study of the gospel reading, and the two readings, one from Peter’s letter telling the story of the amazing visit of Elijah and Moses and God, telling them/us that He is well pleased with Jesus, and for us to listen to Him and do what he tells us to do
We can’t practice Christianity if we don’t protect this country
Let’s be done with this
I realize they are are Evangelical Christians, but that shouldn’t influence you, you are willing to take in other Americans who catch Ebola, such as military people, but you wanted to leave the Evangelical Christian missionaries to die.
You can’t practice Christianity if you don’t practice
Christianity, I’m glad you aren’t in charge of forbidding Americans from coming home and being treated in American hospitals.
Cite one military person in this country with Ebola
In fact I said military people are not contracting it, and if they did, they would not be bringing it back here or going near other military risking an epidemic among them
That is crazy talk
Yes the government is so smart about this like they are about everything
Also arguing that the down side is much worse than the upside implies bad analysis because it does not take into account probabilities. The downside of getting into a passenger jet and augering in from five miles up at 500 mph is much worse than the upside of getting there quick, cheap and safe but the probabilty of the later is many orders of magnitude better then the former. I'm sure Carson flies all the time and he understands that.
I thinks he's demegouging with his expressed opinion about bringing the Ebola missionaries home and I think that's unfortunate.
The left would not be above using Graham and Christians without their knowledge to promote their cause.
Just saw this update on Drudge...
New York hospital patient tests negative for Ebola
You admitted you were just going to troll on this this, and trolling you are.
Now your new time waster is that the clinic special built for the CDC and this situation, won’t be used by them and the military if they get infected in Africa.
Using the Ebola treatment facility for treating a couple of Ebola patients, doesn’t have to be a conspiracy.
Sometimes two Ebola patients going to the Ebola clinic to be treated, is just the way things work.
Agreed.
And more funding too.
Oh, yeah, a brain surgeon doesn’t know anything about risk management
Stop
Oy vey
We don’t have ‘just an Ebola clinic’ here in the US
We don’t until now have Ebola cases here
Am I the only one who thinks it’s rediculous that the CDC’s protocol for a level 1 emergency says nothing about quarantine???
Well, it would be hard to have that in there and then ignore it. All regulator’s favorite mantra is; if you have it in the plan we require you to have you must be doing it.
The question is: how will his opinion on bringing the Ebola missionaries home for treatment effect everybody elses opinion of him (because they are already here and recovering).
Oh man
Are all of the Ebola bacteria from these people gone? Are people caring for them in hazmat suits? Or do they have the all clear as you claim?
Please. You are not informed on this subject. You
Can disagree with my opinion but it is an informed opinion. yours is uninformed. Go read up on this or drop it
Ebola is a virus. When one refers to Ebola as a bacterium one automatically eliminates oneself from the intelligent side of the discussion. Sorry, its a glaring and horrific discussion mistake within the knowledgeable medical community. Just make a note of it and don’t do it again.
Yep!
Too bad that, based on our governments past performance, many of us question everything they say and wonder what their ultimate goal is.

You are so right. Sad, isn’t it?
I think they are running this propaganda operation quite masterfully. The progressives are quite clever in their evil endeavors.
Could martial law be far behind?
