A member of the U.S. Army Band said he was forced out of the U.S. Army for having anti-Obama bumper stickers on his personal car, serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at a party and reading books written by conservative authors like Sean Hannity, a federal lawsuit alleges.
Master Sergeant Nathan Sommers, a 25-year veteran of the military and a decorated soloist in the U.S. Army Band Chorus, claims he was forcibly retired from the Army due to his religious and conservative political beliefs. I first told you about Sommers last year in a series of exclusive Fox News reports.
John Wells, an attorney representing Sommers, called him a true hero who lost his career while trying to stand up for his religious beliefs. He alleges that he drew the ire of his superiors because of his belief in traditional marriage.

If he’d have taken up buggery, he’d be the Sergeant Major of the Army.
Ridiculous. The Holy Bible is more subversive than anything Hannity ever wrote.
The left is trying to eliminate the opposition. Dictators always do that when they get into power.
Unbelievable. God help us all.
Hillary says people shouldn’t be “allowed” to hold opinions that are different from hers.
What the heck is happening to our military!? I know, I know.
Obama needs the army's loyalty if some of the states or the citizenry finally rise up against his assumption of dictatorial powers.
Another example as to why my practice of warning young people to avoid the military is dead-on right.
Uh, - - - wasn’t part of this Soldier’s Oath to Defend the US Constitution, Freedom of Speech and all that?
He'll have enough of what he wants. The recent purge of general and flag officers saw to that. The DHS, IRS and other armed government agencies are already engaged in joint training with the Armed Forces under interagency agreements. Likely, they'll join forces to put down any insurrection.
If I’m recalling correctly, the Sergeant’s “superior officer” was a lesbian with the “troubles” starting soon after her arrival. But that may be another, possibly related, case.
So was Obama's.
The New Army has no room for dissenters
He should have ate a chocolate bannana while reading rulez 4 radiculs....
I think this ONE of the manifestation(s) of Obama’s fear of a Millitary Coup....
Anti Obama stickers? Could that be a problem? Technically, BO *is* this guy's Commander-in-Chief. Would this be considered insubordination?
Perhaps a military FReeper more learned than I could comment....
I’m extremely incensed by the facts of this incident. Sean Hannity is no conservative.
So, campaigning for Obama’s opponent, or voting against Obama would also be “insubordination?”
There’s always more to it. We’re only getting one side.
Why the hell does the Army have a band, let alone a chorus to go with it?
