Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz signaled her intent to run an extremely negative national campaign against Republicans in the run-up to November’s midterm elections, claiming the GOP is “strangled by extremism” and calling its members “out of control.”
Schultz, a TV-news regular not exactly known for her bipartisanship, has been all over the cable networks as November inches closer.
The DNC chair appeared on MSNBC’s “Jose Diaz-Balart” on Monday. While repeatedly professing her desire to “work together” with Republicans to come to an agreement on immigration reform, Schultz tore into her congressional colleagues over their opposition to granting amnesty to the tens of thousands of children crossing the border illegally.
Railing against “their callous indifference to the plight of children streaming across the border, fleeing horrific circumstances in their own country,” Schultz claimed “Republicans are simply strangled by extremism.”
“There is no more establishment, or middle or moderate wing,” she continued. “You’ve got the Steve King wing of the Republican Party today, who raised the specter of impeachment this weekend.”
“These people are out of control,” Schultz charged. “It’s stunning.”

The Democrats can’t run on an improving economy - no matter how aggressively they fudge the numbers people know what’s happening to their own wallets. They sure can’t run on their successful foreign policies.
All they have left is the hope that hysterical charges of racism will fire up enough of their uniformed urban base to keep some of them in power.
Expect this to reach new heights of absurdity, with any and all conservatives accused of being lynching, church burning, death camp operating Nazi Klansmen.
