Dr. Brantly WALKED Into Emory University Hospital in Atlanta

When God is in his mind, yes; when Ebola is in his mind that is a foolish bet. It is a known fact that Ebola infected individuals do NOT always act in ways of which their healthy selves would be proud, including infected Americans who love their families.
He wore the hazmat suit to care for patients in Africa. So how did he get the disease then? Another dr there who wore the suit is already dead. Why are we taking these kind of chances. Because the CDC is another wing of Obama.
Hoping the doctor knows more on how not to spread Ebola than he did in contracting it.
What is a fair movie and a good book set in an 'escape proof' medical quarantine facility from which the protagonist eventually escapes.
It does not seem to be behaving as it normally does. I say that because many medical professionals and other staff trained to deal with Ebola such as nurses, cleaning people have indeed become sick with Ebola. Several trained people working with full protective gear have become infected so yes I am concerned.
Ebola is not necessarily so easy to deal with when it is not inside a host, since it can live on hard surfaces dry for 20 something days. It would seem that many could be exposed to the many surfaces that a person sick with Ebola could have left Ebola on through their fluid.
This is a Christian doctor who has put his life on the line fighting ebola, and could die as a result. I think we can trust he is going to act responsibly.

Thank you for the voice of common sense! ;-)
I agree with the Freeper who said he should have been taken to GITMO - hear they have excellent facilities there.
I’m glad this Christian missionary is going to get the treatment he needs (and Emory is equipped to do it). My understanding is that he was to be transported under secure conditions, with a specially equipped plane, etc.
However, I don’t know why he couldn’t have been moved by that specially equipped plane to some other point in Africa where a special clinic was set up for the purpose and treated and cured there before being brought home.
May God bless him and may ebola not spread here.
Of course, as open as our border is, if we have an outbreak, it will likely be by any number of people allowed to come here freely (and in droves) from Africa. There are apparently Africans who have gained citizenship here who go back and forth frequently.
There should be an absolute prohibition of any entry to our country for any person who has been to Africa for the last year, unless they are quarantined beyond the incubancy period and a safe period thereafter before they come here. (In addition to all of our borders being shut and our airports prepared to prevent people from leaving their planes if they shouldn’t be here.)
LOL
How may I Fundamentally Transform you; let me count the ways.
Oh, ok. I guess this doctor and 110 other health care workers wearing PL3 protection became infected because they were also practicing African tribal social customs. It all makes sense now.
To me that should have been the most important question. I'd like to hear the explanations about this from those who decided to bring him here.
The man knew what he was doing and got it anyway....this does not bode well. He's obviously a good guy but I don't want to see my family die because someone put their heart before their brain.
Three points:
1. A lot of Africans have immigrated to the US in the past few years.
2. Not all of the hordes from Central America are up to the cleanliness and hygiene standards that have kept these diseases from spreading in the US.
3. That's what we were originally told about AIDS, before it was spread through blood transfusions and heterosexual sex.
I never said that “his coming home is the act that is going to kill us all” - you insert hyperbole and ignore my points, and tell me don’t worry, just trust Obama and the CDC and the hospitals to have it all under control (there’s a trustworthy team for sure).
Why worry about Ebola, which is sure just to be another annoying virus like swine flu here in affluent America with our running water and indoor plumbing. The INVASION we are currently suffering right now is giving us more to worry about such TB and other previously eradicated diseases into our country. People infected with all sorts of diseases previously unknown here are being intentionally dispersed all over. So excuse me if I don’t have the confidence you have in public health protection in America any more.
Trust this CREW at your own peril — If in the end I am wrong, I will admit it. Will you do the same?
Its legal to knowingly bring in people who have a deadly highly contagious disease? We have no laws against this?
SAARS IS GOING TO KILL US ALL!!!! BIRD FLU IS GOING TO KILL US ALL!!! KROKODILE IS GOING TO SWEEP ACROSS AMERICA AND ADDICT AND KILL ALL OUR CHILDREN!!!
Now it’s Ebola.
As the JPEG says “Oh geez not this s**t again.
We did back in the early 70’s when I contracted a blood borne disease in West Africa. I had to have a blood test to prove I was ‘clear’ before I was allowed to come back into the States.
And I was treated in an African bush clinic right next to all the little African children suffering from the same disease.
Thankfully, your ancestors and mine survived the plague and smallpox and various other scourges of humanity. Amazing, huh?
Take a look at the pictures and tell me if you see “hazmat
Suits”
There are other pictures floating around showing how they are really suited up. Africa, a third world country, do the best they can with what they have.
I think the reasons for the med pro’s (NGO’s) getting infected is primarily because ebola presents like the flu or a cold, initially.
There is no test for it and it does not present as ebola until it enters the final stage or death in humans. It often does not even present as a runny nose in animals.
So a lot of people can contract it accidentally and unknowingly until a definitive outbreak is warned about.
That’s not the case with the situation in the US.
