The House late Friday revived and approved a Republican-authored border crisis bill after GOP leaders hurriedly resolved an internal battle that scuttled the vote a day earlier but with the Senate on recess and the House soon to follow, theres little chance of any bill reaching President Obamas desk until the fall.
The president now is vowing to act unilaterally to address the illegal immigration issue.
The House legislation was approved on a 223-189 vote. The new version of the bill adds additional funding for the National Guard and includes policy changes meant to speed deportations of illegal immigrant children surging across the southern border.
However, a separate Senate bill died on a procedural vote a day earlier, and no more votes in that chamber are scheduled until early September.Even if the Senate were somehow to approve the House bill, Obama vowed Friday he would veto it.
In the absence of any legislation that all sides can agree on, the president threatened to act on his own to address immigration challenges, potentially during the five-week recess.
"I'm going to have to make some tough choices to meet the challenge, with or without Congress," Obama said Friday, speaking to reporters in the White House briefing room.
He later added: "I'm going to have to act alone, because we don't have enough resources."

Nancy Pelosi has already taken to twitter demanding to “Hold them Accountable” and being quickly reminded that they have to wait 5 weeks or until November. LOL
You did not read the bill.
She was outsmarted by Boehner and is trying to make believe the Pubbies made a mistake. That’s what they do. They send a completely cuckoo message out there that has no familiarity with reality.
Agreed!
I don't think Boehner would be too happy with that. Didn't he want to give Obama everything he wanted?
Texas, Arizona and New Mexico ought to bring sit against Obama. The do-nothing Supreme Court would have to admit they ‘ve been harmed in this invasion.
Obviously you didn’t watch the bill being passed tonight. It rescinds Obama’s “Dreamers” executive order after it expires at the end of next year....and there have been 756,000 “Dreamers” who have received their two year work permits courtesy of King Obama. You learn some shocking things when you watch a bill being debated!
According to Fox News Chad Pergram, four Republicans voted no: (Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Stephen Fincher (R-TN), Walter Jones (R-NC) and Paul Broun (R-GA), and one Democrat voted yes: Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX).
Exactly. Go for it Bronco. You da man.
The USA is now a tin pot dictatorship run by decree by a a kenyan homosexual muslim dope addict.
The fact that the government and residents are willing to tolerate the situation portends for more threatening, dangerous and violent nationalist socialist tyranny. Stay ready for the meltdown.

Sounds like a plan!
I know Obama’s immigration policy - amnesty and open borders.
I don’t know the GOP’s immigration policy other than the GOPe Chamber of Commerce, Jeb Bush, RINO policy. If Boehner and his crew cannot unite behind the rule of law, all is lost for the Republican Party. And by the way, bitching about the Kenyan’s DACA law now is way too flipping late.
Secure the f’ing border, stop the 2008 human trafficking loophole, shut down DACA, halt anchor babies, and establish an orderly immigration policy. F La Raza.

SEN. BARACK OBAMA: I taught constitutional law for ten years. I take the Constitution very seriously. The biggest problems that were facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all, and thats what I intend to reverse when Im president of the United States of America. (Townhall in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, March 31, 2008)
I don't think that you get it yet- he wants to piss everybody off, that's the idea. Maximum chaos.
Why don’t we create a fund to defend our own border. Since the government doesn’t want to do it, there are PLENTY of militia’s that will come to a call to arms. Get some manpower down there, and start building. At least 80% of Americans are for secure borders. What could the gov do? Yell at us, boohoo. 50,000 or more armed Americans aren’t going to be sent home easily.
It’s up to us to defend our country, our government has betrayed us many times. They are getting even bolder in their lawlessness. Won’t be long now until we won’t be able to fight back. Show them WE own them, we’re not serfs.
I’m FreedomStar3028, AND I AM A FREE MAN!
The people who screwed up are conservatives who refused to vote Romney. Still happy to sit on the sidelines? Can’t wait for 8 years of Hillary.
I don’t know anybody, not a single person, who likes Obama. Nobody. At a distance, the only ones who like him are nuts or have some dysfunctional upbringing.
Diktater
I do, actually. But I think his spitefulness is now out of control. The percentage of those who don’t want him to do this is very high and getting higher. Big demonstrations against amnesty tomorrow.
