I am sure they don’t have much of an idea just how cold some of these places they are being sent will be. But, like the Somalis in Maine and Sweden—they adjust. Stay where put, where the welfare checks keep coming, I guess.

I am from upstate NY. Similar thing happened there in a city called Schenectady. (used to be a big GE employee city--now defunct). It was some group of refugees from somewhere in Africa. I can't remember where but I know I had never heard of them.

Anyhow, I had, at the time, a big lib in-law who talked about it constantly how great it was going to be for her property value, for them, for diversity, blah, blah...

Ten years later, I just asked my sister about it and she said they've been a scourge on the community. Welfare fraud, running down the houses that they were basically given, drug dealers, gangs, etc.

Who knew? Africa is Africa for reasons other than the weather, or the zip codes, or colonialism...
