A grieving Bronx family is stunned that the teen accused of sucker-punching their father and husband is being charged with a misdemeanor that could result in the suspect doing less than a year in jail.
Ildefonso Romero Jr. died days after a teenage boy allegedly sucker-punched him outside his home on Thieriot Avenue in Soundview on June 21. Witnesses said Romero had been protecting a girl from local teens who were apparently causing trouble in the street, and one of the teens punched Romero.
Romero fell and hit his head on the curb, and his son found him unconscious on the ground.

The victim seems to have a Hispanic name; they are displacing blacks in all walks of life, and will eventually encounter them as infrequently as most whites.

Less than a year? Furniture, low rent.
The good news is that the kid will be out in a year and the victim’s relatives can hunt him down and kill him. I wouldn’t vote to convict. When the system breaks the compact, what else is there to do?

I disagree. Our system was designed to prevent vendetta by requiring the state to assume the awful burden of execution.
It wasn’t perfect, of course, but it worked pretty well.

In fact, it should be charged higher and harder as there is no synchronous interaction.
Just ferals hunting innocent people, who have no idea what may befall them and are just as defenseless as being gunned down in a drive by shooting that has no natural enemy and no reason to wantonly attack the unsuspecting.
Just as much manslaughter but, in my mind, murder.

when these judges are faced with the fruits of their actions then things will change... the outrage of the people take out their anger on not only the perps, but the treasonous judges who, and make no mistake about it a blatant usurpation of the Constitution, that is to say, attempting to overthrow the Republic, by fostering a willful disregard for the law.
