Homophones, as any English grammarian can tell you, are words that sound the same but have different meanings and often different spellings such as be and bee, through and threw, which and witch, their and there.
This concept is taught early on to foreign students learning English because it can be confusing to someone whose native language does not have that feature.
But when the social-media specialist for a private Provo-based English language learning center wrote a blog explaining homophones, he was let go for creating the perception that the school promoted a gay agenda.

I also heard that people at that school were openly and unashamedly matriculating. Also, boys and girls there share the same curriculum!
Shameful!

I thought a homophone was something you can buy in a Sprint store in San Francisco.

I remember ( I hope) the terms were:
1. Antonym : Same spelling...different meaning )ANTI——))
2. Synonym : Different word but SAME meaning (pair, duo, twin)
3. HOMOnym : Different spelling, different meaning, Same spoken.
Does #2 mean the approval of SIN? Yew nevir noe, dew yew?

Antonym : Same spelling...different meaning )ANTI))...
Antonyms are words that have opposite meanings, with no reference to spelling or pronunciation, i.e., fast/slow, full/empty, etc.
If I recall correctly, anyway...

I remember back in the day drinking plenty of Homo Milk. Never turned me gay.
But I don't think I ever used Homo Phone.

Doubt it. Probably true. There’s a lot of stupid out there.
To: glorgau
And, at lunch time, I’ll bet that they were also openly and unashamedly masticating as well!

I really hope you’re being sarcastic. This is total idiocy. I recall a case in which a teacher was fired by a public school for teaching the word niggardly in her class. We here on FR were outraged by that. We should similarly be outraged by someone getting fired for teaching about homophones.

Knee jerk ignorance on both sides of the isle’s (Guam) aisle; as bad as the ‘niggardly” furor of a few years ago.
