Israeli attacks against US Secretary of State John Kerry accusing him being of a supporter of Hamas are "offensive and absurd," a senior US diplomat said Wednesday.
In a sharp exchange with reporters, deputy State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf hit out against a torrent of abuse from "respected voices in Israel talking about the secretary of state, claiming that he supports Hamas, which is offensive and absurd."
The United States had been given Israel "a level of support which has been quite frankly unprecedented in our history, even when we stood alone," she added.
Kerry has been the subject of ridicule in the Israeli press after his attempts to broker a ceasefire - and US President Barack Obama's heavy pressure on Israel to concede to Hamas's unprecedented demands - deeply offended Israelis living under the constant threat of rocket fire from Hamas.
The secretary of state has been described in the press as a "bull in a china shop," and an "amateur who thinks he can solve the world's problems with his presence alone."
The most outrageous accusations, however, have been levied by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) - the terror organization behind the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah - which declared Wednesday that Kerry's snubbing Egypt in recent talks in Paris constitutes open US support for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, ....

In time, after the IDF elminates as much of the threat as is possible, and after USA hopefully recovers with a new, more loyal regime in 2016, the diplomatic situation can also recover. There being such a strong, deep tie between the two countries and what they (are supposed to) stand for.

Why does the State Dept. Feel the need to go public with this? All it does is expose Kerry as a big baby and opens him to more criticism.
Kerry is a self hating Jew, who has tried to pass himself off as all Irish for lo these many years. Bet not that many people know that Kerry is Jewish on one side of his family.

Well one would have to know just what they mean using that phrase...support can mean many things.
We know Obama’s been a royal a** regarding even BiBi’s visits here...and the two have been playing their own tit 4 tat game for some time. That’s how Obama does things, throws his weight around rather than be diplomatic or even remotely representing himself as a statesman...he can’t even fake that and nation leaders know the “King” has no clothes.
This administration just repeats itself....the idea being you repeat it enough times people believe it...and with the those who support OB it doesn’t take much for them to be lapping at his feet.
Ob got the election by many overseas donors, not just here, and he’s indebted to them to perform accordingly. ...
Not to mention the fact Israel has not been supportive of Obamas sanctions with Russia...that speaks volumes.
