Six soldiers were wounded on Tuesday evening by a barrage of mortar shells in the Gaza Region. The condition of the six wounded soldiers has not yet been made public.
Yesterday, four soldiers were killed by mortar shells near Israels border with Gaza: Staff Sergeant Eliav Eliahu Chaim Kachlon, aged 22 from Tzfat; Corporal Meidan Maimon Bitton, aged 20 from Netivot; Corporal Niran Cohen, aged 20 from Tiberias; and Sergeant Major Adi Brigga, aged 23 from Beit Shikmah.
Earlier on Tuesday night, at around 8:20 p.m. sirens were heard in Beit Shemesh, the communities comprising the Mateh Yehudah region, and even as far as the Jerusalem Hills region and some communities in the center of Gush Etzion, south of the capital.
One rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome over Jerusalem. At this time, it is unclear as to whether more rockets were struck down by the missile defense system, or where they exploded.
Meanwhile, regardless of Palestinian bickering over a possible ceasefire, fighting continued to rage between IDF forces and Islamist terrorists in Gaza Tuesday , with the Israeli Air Force striking several targets, including the home of Hamas's leader in Gaza, Ismail Haniyeh.
Ground forces continued to clash with terrorists as well, with at least five terrorists shot dead ...

Here is how we experienced it at home. I was reading my oldest granddaughter (age 6) Cinderella for a bedtime story, the younger granddaughter (age 3) listening in. The siren sounded the alarm, so I moved them into my son (age 11)'s room, where we all agreed we'd take shelter. They were all excited and upset, and everything I said ended me in hot water. I told them it would probably pass us by and hit Jerusalem, and they started crying that they didn't want their uncle Yitzie to die. The younger one was worried that a missile had hit their mother in Georgia. Then the elder girl remembered what I had told her about Iron Dome ("a nice missile flies up into the air and blows up the nasty missile") and I was saved. The girls calmed down. The sirens stopped and a few minutes later, the alarm was over, and we went back to finish off Cinderella.
During all this, my aged (81) mother-in-law was sitting on the toilet, contentedly talking to herself, chanting "make pish! make pish!". I went out and heard her, figured she was just as safe in there, and left her to her business.
Later that night, I spent some quality time with my son. We started watching Chaplin's A King in New York, but the lights went out, shutting off our computer with the dead battery. A few seconds later, they went off again as i tried rebooting, and we were left in complete blackness, holding onto one another.
In the pitch dark, I remembered the Fogel family of Itamar, and it occurred to me that the power might have been sabotaged by some enterprising terrorist so they could invade people's houses and butcher them. So I took my son with me into the kitchen, fumbling along and bumping into things, until we reached the drawer where we keep our good knives. Feeling the contours, I provided him with a small straight-edge paring knife, and took a larger carving knife for myself. We were ready to give those terrorists what for, but then the lights went back on, and my wife came home from her seminar. My son was still on fire with apprehension, though, and he ended up going to sleep at about a quarter to 11.
Alone at last, I finished writing page eight of Megillat Esther (I'm a scribe), which speaks of Mordechai's lobbying efforts to inform Queen Esther of the plight of her people, threatened back then as we are today.
Was I praying that loud?
What is PDT?
Pacific Daylight Time
I think all our prayers were loud ....
Stay safe. Prayers for Israel.
Please know and communicate to your friends that
people here in America are praying for Israel and
support the IDF in the hard work they have taken on.
We pray OUR leaders will be awakened and support you.
May peace be upon you and upon all Israel. Amen.
Stay safe and thank you for sharing.
Flashlights, definitely. Armaments? Can’t afford a Glock, or even a sword. Do know how to kill quickly with a shoelace or bare hands, though my knife-throwing is a bit rusty.
God bless you, your family and the IDF (doing the work of the civilized world).
What kind of stuff is available there? Lot's of used hunting equipment here. Nice to have a Tavor or an M4 or a Glock but you work with what you have.
If this link is still true you may be out of luck unless you're in an approved group.
Are you allowed to hunt in Israel? How about black powder or muzzleloading weapons. Crossbows, compound or recurve or long bow as a last resort.
Hate to be in your situation and unarmed.
May the Lord who saved the Jews from the schemes of Haman have mercy on His people and save them from Hamas.
I hope it is a safe room, what do you call it, a mamad?
Have the most potent weapon in the world, my own mind, especially after my deceased brother-in-law/sensei taught me how to make it dangerous. Never unarmed. Neither is anybody else, really. Second Amendment is to deter the government from overreaching. So long as you have a mind and one finger, you’re armed.
Safest room in the house. Don’t know the Hebrew term, but “mamad” sounds accurate. Comes from the word omad, which means to stand. So it probably means the place where one stands, or is posted.
Yes but it’s nice to have some tools especially if you have loved ones to worry about and heavily armed satan worshippers are popping up out of the ground.
I had worked out in karate and judo for years, was in good shape and had a rude awakening about 20 yrs ago.
I encountered 3 pavement apes assaulting a female. I rushed in figuring I could handle 3. I didn’t see the other 3 behind a van.
One of them hit me in the back of the head with a brick and knocked me down then all 6 were on me.
Fortunately a car turned into the street after they got a few more licks in and they took off like roaches.
Turns out they were trying to kidnap the girl.
Since then my situational awareness meter is usually in the red zone and I always have a Smith & Wesson, a good knife and a good flashlight.
A flashlight of at least 100 lumens will effectively blind an attacker.
An 18” piece of lead pipe or a breaker bar would come in handy as would a stout machete or a hatchet.
Use what you got I guess.
Good luck and prayers for you.
