With the situation being so horrendous, there's only one logical solution. That would be for the US to turn Mexico's border with the US into a 10-mile wide DMZ, south of the Rio Grande. That way, the Mexicans can keep anyone they let travel through their country. And no problem with the Rio Grande if the US military controls both sides.

Don't we help Korea with a DMZ? Isn't it about time we helped ourselves?

At this point, any lesser solution from DC is silly and useless.

I like the 10 mile buffer. That would impact 40% of the problem. Concurrent to that would be to secure the sea ports and air ports as points of entry for the other 60% who get in to the country illegally.
