The airline said the Panama-bound plane was forced to return to Toronto Friday morning about 45 minutes into the flight after a passenger, identified by authorities as Ali Shahi, made a "direct threat against the aircraft."
Witnesses told CNN affiliate CTV that Shahi said he wanted to bomb Canada.

Well why don’t you tell us then.
Yes. We should instead resolve to have a more disproportionate response next time!
The terrorist could still have blown up the plane with the passengers — or have you forgotten the “underware bomber”?
I read recently that the terrorists perfected that explosive material.
I think these thoughts every time I raise my hands in the universal sign of surrender to the Terrorist Success Agency.
You mean before they actually got through their security and they caught them at the scanners type of “caught”?
Off hand, I’d say ZERO. I know they claim stopping a lot of them, but most of the higher profile ones were where the particular terrorist action failed (shoe bomber, underwear bomber, and the like.)
LOL!!

If he had had that capability, he would already have used it to dump the airplane in flames on whatever is below the approach to Toronto. The SWAT team would have been useless.
I never said the Canadian thing wasn’t legitimate at all. In fact, as an action it was successful. I only remarked about their orders.
Listen very carefully to the video where Gregory isn’t playing reporter......”hands up, heads down” repeated rapidly. In some instances it slurred to “hands-up-heads-down” now extrapolate a little “....-up-heads-down-hands...” Just saying.
Other than every one of the SWATters saying it all together and some sequentially, how clear is that? Especially when you have an M-4 pointed at you?
The Canadians actually did a pretty good job given the circumstances. Had this been in the US, I fear the consequences would have been much worse.
Yes, both are d*icks...
You’re right, none. They haven’t caught a single ‘terrorist’. They’ve groped a lot of old ladies and little children, ruined lives of good people, and cost a heck of a lot of money.
If you don’t get the reference, don’t embarrass yourself with silly replies.
pfft, there is nothing new or radical in chemistry. There are new ways to package it.
Meanwhile the TSA considers right wingers and bible thumpers to be a bigger threat than a radical muslim.
My bad....I don’t watch enough to have the names and faces inked in my brain, nor want to. David Gregory and Anderson Cooper. Yeah, you’re right....mea culpa.
Woulda been easy to find in that case, maybe the TSA could even find the tall smurf.
You mean, Anderson Cooper. But they do all look alike.
Yep, my bad.
In ObaMao's America, every citizen is a potential terrorist and every terrorist is a potential citizen. The burden of proof is on the citizen to prove otherwise.
If I was on a flight headed anywhere & a threat was made, I would be praying for SWAT (or any other agency) to come through the door with as much fire power as they could carry. I would not give a flyin’ you-know-what how many times I heard “Hands up, heads down!”
That seemed a bit over the top. They could use some re-training.
