For all of the (deserved) “voting present” snark conservatives have directed at President Obama, his administration took a stand against the UN’s self-parodic madness and deep moral depravity last night. The Obama White House’s record on Israel has been the worst in recent memory, but even they have standards below which they won’t stoop. Then again, the only reason our delegation was present to vote ‘no’ is that Obama insisted that we join this farcical body, lending it woefully undeserved legitimacy. Our participation on the Council has featured such indignities as prostrating ourselves before a merry-go-round of crackpot regimes as they lectured us about imagined human rights “abuses.” Last night’s resolution approved an international inquiry into Israel’s supposed “war crimes” in Gaza It did not mention Hamas. I have to presume that the “US” voted no, just as some ‘Rats voted against Øcare - when their vote wasn’t needed for the final tally, but needed to be what it was for local consumption.
The United States should have withdrawn all financial support for this radicalized pimp club years ago. Yes, its a way to keep an eye on these nuts, but there are far more effective and economical ways to do so if we had the will...and the cajones!!
