From 1975-1979 my mom traveled there from Syracuse, N.Y. for cancer treatments. I visited her often. On “day” not night, I watched as young “men” jacked up a car to get the wheels off a car that was in the parking lot. I couldn’t believe what I saw. I can’t imagine what that area is like today.

If that was the case 35 years ago it must be out of control now.

Heck, I’ve lived in major cities and not seen the likes of what I have in this small community here in Western PA.

I remember the first time a police car took down a gal in a car in front of my apartment! I was shocked to see it happening on my doorstep! And I don’t live in that type of area.....but it’s all over the pace anymore.

Last summer a car chase, which began miles away, ended up on the side street here where I actually heard the police yell out to the guy..”put your hands up and get out of the car!”....chilling hardly says my reaction. I wanted to run somewhere! Learned later it was a hit and run.

I don’t think anymore there are too many “safe” areas as we once enjoyed....and certainly the police have their hands tied even if you would call them!
