The FAAs primary mission and interest are the protection of people traveling on U.S. airlines. That may be true, but I am sure the FAA did not make the decision. The Obungler did. These rat bast---- lie with a straight face, all day, every day.

Just read a story about the John F Kerry swoop down landing this morning in Israel, that portrays Netanyahu as hopping mad and suspicious of the Obama regime over this no fly business.
By 4:30 EST, the hold was lifted. Hmmmm.

The difference maybe being they werent completely partisan before?
Before what? Before obammy? I suspect you're exactly right. The Evil-in-Chief has turned the Feral bureaucracy against the citizens of the nation, no doubt about it.

Why would he worry about the Jewish vote in the next election???
Even though he is “fundraising” every chance he can get, it cannot be much (reason) for him doing so for the democrat incumbents, or the newbies...
Remember, “pay” for “play”???
Just my opinion...

“Just read a story about the John F Kerry swoop down landing this morning in Israel, that portrays Netanyahu as hopping mad”
I couldn’t help but notice that the Evening Network News shows, The Daily Show, the Late-Night Comics, and CNN, didn’t mention this, either:
“Kerry, Aides Undergo Metal Detector Screening Before Meeting With Egyptian President”
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3184034/posts
That is a HUGE diplomatic insult, and quite public proof that the Egyptians don’t trust Kerry.

To force the FAA to reverse their decision is an outrage.”
Timing of the ban was bound to make it suspect plus the fact that Kerry did fly into and out of that airport. Obama could have come down hard on Hamas and openly accused them of prolonging and escalating this conflict but, of course, that is way too much to expect from someone who is so supportive of terrorists activities.

Before making this decision, the FAA worked with its U.S. government counterparts to assess the security situation in Israel>>>>>>>>>>
An assessment based on fact and not Obama uber politic? Wow.
I have gone from repressed to impressed!
This entire fiasco shows just how compromised US agencies have become, infiltrated by Obama aparatchik fascists. All of these Obama operatives need to be fired, or worse.

The O admin probably was behind a rocket being fired off near the airport so they could push for this ban in order to hurt Israel.

ridiculous and offensive" wasn't particularly smart after all?

Obama is a believer in subterfuge and misdirection. Once he investment bankers to capitulate to his extortion because he was the only thing standing between them and the pitchforks. He has corrupted the IRS, the Patent Office and multiple other federal agencies to engage in illegal behavior, and this is what he did regarding the FAA.
Fortunately Senator Cruz, Mayor Bloomberg and perhaps some of his big donors (including the ones he met with in Seattle yesterday) objected to Obama’s efforts to isolate Israel and destroy its economy, and, thankfully, the decision was reversed.
This is the first time that I can recall such a reversal. It is worth deep analysis to determine what broke Obama’s will im this case.

See: Cruz. And Michael Bloomberg; I was very proud of him flying to Israel and giving that interview with Wolf Blitzer next to the Israeli mayor. Blitzer almost came across as a Hamas spokesman (yes, I know that is over the top but ...).

There being no reduction in the risk of rocket fire in the last two days, this proves to me that the FAA was doing nothing other than acting at the behest of our anti-Israel pressure to effectively produce the economic pressure BDS dreams of.

Iron Dome already DOES protect the airport. Israel has said all along that the rocket that fell within 5 km of LLBG was tracked by Iron Dome and not shot down because it was not a threat to the airport. Ben Gurion remains one of he safest airports in the world. DCA, and LGA could only hope to be so safe.
I know the news that the world-wide boycott of Israel's airport has failed is deeply disturbing to Hamas supporters around the world that want to see Israel pay in some way for their step-by-step irradiation of the Islamist vermin in Gaza.

You got it. It is very sad. I have interacted with the FAA for decades, and I have very good friends that work as inspectors and managers there. I would have thought they would never go political. Their reputation has been very good, which is why when the made their ban, Europe followed.
Let's start a list of corrupt government agencies. I will be we can now include them all. NSA, IRS, DOD, DOJ, DOC, DOT, EPA, NASA, FAA...

It does protect that area, but the rocket got through nonetheless ... and that’s what started the “stampede” of the airlines ... :-) ...
Since there has been no others getting through, I suspect you’ll see the various airlines (who suspended flights earlier) dribbling back to the airport.
BUT ... with travelers and tourism ... that’s another matter. In the past it has taken six months for tourism to recover.
