Russian soldiers VK-page shows RUSSIA is shelling Ukraine with heavy artillery
Valdimir Petrov @_hedder found evidence of a Russian artillery unit shelling Ukrainian positions from Russian territory, because a soldier from this unit is posting photos on his VKontakte page (the Russian Facebook). Or course immediately after discovering this, his page has been deleted. But the info is still here:
"all night we were cannoning Ukraine"

Uh, that is a red herring. Just because we support the Ukraine doesn’t mean we want to send troops.

Great explanation.
Can we start by stopping any aid we send there? The Russians made their bed, so let them sleep in it.

The difference is we support the right side in this war, and the Russians the wrong side (like they did in Vietnam)

He is conning you, you idiot. Putin is very wise. He has coopted the Ukrainian Church not because he is Christian, but because it is wise to do so.

Just about every great accomplishment throughout civilization has been during times of stability in which people lived at some level of comfort. It takes people who feel safe and have leisure time for culture and science to move forward. Granted, some innovations have been to produce better weapons, but those are mostly developed by the more successful nations getting greedy.
We see it today. Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Egypt etc had thousands of years of civilization we see crumbling now that they're "free" of their dictators.
So a "KGB thug for an ally"? I have to ask which countries, judged by their cultures and values are the most stable. It ain't US.

There are plenty of living Romanovs. Check it out:
Last Tsar's Murder Probe Raises Divisive Questions About Bolshevik Crimes - February 18, 2010 - The Kremlin has often tapped into the country's prerevolutionary past in a bid to revive a sense of national identity and pride in post-Soviet Russia. This has included steps such as canonizing the last imperial family in 2000 or reburying in St. Petersburg the tsar's mother, Empress Maria Fyodorovna, who died in exile in Denmark. Vladimir Putin, then president, attended the 2006 ceremony alongside descendants of the Romanov dynasty.
Maria Vladimirovna has said she is ready to step in as empress should Russians ever opt for the restoration of monarchy. So far, her overtures have remained unanswered.

Just because we support the Ukraine doesnt mean we want to send troops. Then what do you want to do that's both realistic and practical?

There are plenty of living Romanovs. Perhaps, but their claims are extremely weak, with Nicholas and his line being completely wiped out by the Bolsheviks.

Putin’s claim to the throne is weaker. His grandfather was a cook. He’s not a noble. Sure he’s Supreme Leader for life, but Tsar? No. He can stand next to real nobility in front of cameras to try and soak up some of their aura but that’s about it.
To: Tailgunner Joe
I never said that Putin had a claim to the throne. But he's made himself the virtual Tsar of a new Russian Empire, and he's got the guns and nukes to back it up.

Suckers like you are fooled by such Pharisaical pretenses of religious piety. Realistic people understand that Putin’s genocidal savagery does not match his pretense of religion.

Realistic people understand that Putins genocidal savagery does not match his pretense of religion. Genocidal? So remind me again how many populations he has wiped out?
Talk about hyperbole...

Putin dropped cluster bombs on innocent Christian women and children when he invaded Georgia in 2008. He intentionally targeted civilian population centers. His forces, in cooperation with ethnic separatists, massacred and ethnically cleansed thousands of Georgians.
To: Tailgunner Joe
No he didn't. Last time I checked Tblisi still exists and counted a large population of 1.5 million people.
More hyperbole.
