Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright made a great point on CNN on Tuesday when she conceded that it is hard to dispute that forces loyal to Hamas in the Gaza Strip are using human shields in order to protect their military assets. She implied that this tactic has resulted in an inordinate number of Palestinian causalities over the course of the ongoing conflict with Israel.
After conceding that Hamas is intentionally making civilian casualties more likely, she said that it was nevertheless the case that those causalities are sapping Israel of its moral authority.
To that end, Israel began the gradual and methodical withdrawal from many PLO towns and villages on the West Bank while the PLO promised to erase 2 sections from their Charter calling for the destruction of Israel. Seems pretty fair, right “MAD”? Tangible assets for the promises of peace to come, on paper? Hmmmm.
Well, the more Israel withdrew and provided (along with the US and Europe) Arafart with weapons, money and EVERYTHING HE NEEDED TO START NATION BUILDING. What did they Israelis get in reciprocity? Intifada II. 1,000 dead Israeli men, women and children, blown to bits on buses, in cafes and on the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and 4,500 wounded and maimed civilians.
What has the PLO (later called PA - Palestinian Authority)given up as part of their COMPROMISE (a word, by the way that does not exist in the Muslim-Arab dictionary-look around the entire planet)? Anybody? I would like to hear from somebody what tangible thing did the Arabs compromise on?
MAD HAlfbright, like Warren Christopher, Dennis Ross, Martyn Indyk, Sandy Berger, William Cohen, Bill Clinton, Shimon Peres, Yitzak Rabin, Hilliary Clinton and SO MANY OTHER professional diplomats GOT IT ALL WRONG due to a fundamental conceptual error. They were all Western-oriented people, thinking the Arabs think like them, feel like them, hurt like them - after all, are we all not human beings? We are STILL MAKING THE SAME ASSUMPTIONS which are doomed to fail, yet again.
Getting back to MAD Halfbright’s comment from circa 1994, the Arabs, Muslims, Iranians,Afghanis, Libyans, Egyptians DO NOT THINK LIKE US, DO NOT SHARE OUR ASPIRATIONS, DO NOT PERCIEVE THE WORLD AS WE DO. The opposite is true. We got a tatse of this on 9/11, just a mild tatse of things to come. This should have been a wake up call but then, America elected a loser, more on that in another post.
The ONLY difference between the stated aims of the PLO and the HAMAS is that the HAMAS are religious fanatics while Abu Mazen’s PLO FATAH are secular terorrists. Their goal was, and is the same - the utter destruction of Israel.
So, next time we hear the term (used ONLY against Israel) about “disproportionate retaliation” please bear in mind, Israel must fight for her life in such a way that her neighbors fear her, thinking she has gone bananas. This is called “deterrence”.
People who do not see this (in the Dept. of State, WH, etc.), are doomed through their policies of Appeasement.
Support Israel (a 21st century Democracy) in her war on Medeival Tribal savages.
Also go look up a Dr. Wafa Sultan, a Syrian American physician who speaks the truth courageously about Islam.
She is wrong again, big surprise. Not. Consider, If Israel does nothing injuries to and deaths of civilians continues as Hamas continues its terror campaign of bombings, rocket attacks, kidnappings etc. If Israel fights with kid gloves much the same happens. If the gloves come off and Israel goes after Hamas with a vengeance yes some Palestinians get hurt or killed. But this is the only path - destroying Hamas - that has an end game where the civilian deaths stop.
HAMAS is very similar to the Japanese in WWII, caves, tunnels, treachery, human shields, etc.).
If they had Mitsubishi Zeros, they would surely dive bomb them into Tel Aviv.
The ONLY WAY to defeat them is to do it utterly and totally via annihilation. This is what they understand and even respect.
If the world stops Israel now, it is just setting up the next “Island hopping war” like what happened in the Pacific in WWII.
It took fire bomb raids and 2 nuclear bombs to calm the Japanese down. After that, they all became pacifists. The same holds true for HAMAS...
Get this Israel made ROBO phone calls to residents in advance of bombing using laser guided bombs to minimize civilian casualties.
Israel dropped leaflets expressing Israel’s desire that residents leave home and go somewhere safe.
I am not sure I would have cared since these people elected Hamas and elections have consequences.
Israel has had 3 cease fires and Hamas rejected all 3 and used the lull to replenish their missiles.
MS. Halfbright lied for decades that she didn’t know her family were Jews. That was a lie she knew all along.
If you look up self hating Jew, there is a picture of Allbright, Weinberger, and Kerry ne Kohn.
But Israel has tried to take the high road while dealing with low life Terrorists who started this whole episode by killing 3 innocent young lads.
Hamas puts the civilians in harms way to get killed. When they are killed due to the action of Hamas this becomes a moral outrage against Israel? This logic is insanity.
The Gaza is a money pit from hell for Israel. If Gaza would live in peace with Israel there would be no war. This war is a function of Hamas action against Israel. It must always be remembered that Gaza was taken by Israel in the 67 war and then given back to the Palestinians by Israel. When it was given back it became a locus of war against Israel.
In WWII we did not give Hitler nor Tojo a place of refuge. The United States and allies crushed and destroyed Germany and Japan. In the wake of this destruction peace, liberty, and freedom flourished. Until the cancer of radical Islam in the Middle East is destroyed there will be no peace, no liberty nor freedom.
As an aside I must comment that I have lived and worked in the Middle East. The vast majority of the Arabs there want nothing but peace. However when you consider that about 5% of that group are fanatical, you have many millions that are willing and want to fight at all levels of war and terrorism and barbarism. Death in this cause is not to be feared but welcomed. Until Israel is no more or the fanatics are dead there will be no peace.
I will always remember what my employer in Oman said to me when Anwar Sadat established peace with Israel and spoke to the Knesset in Israel. I was very excited about this. My boss, “Sheik Said” did not share my joy although he wanted the same thing. He also wanted peace and knew of what he spoke. Prior to this time he was the Ambassador from Zanzibar to the UN. His exact words were, “Sadat is a dead man.” Sadly he was correct. Sadat died at the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood which today is closely allied with Hamas and really is one and the same.
I wish Gaza was a part of Egypt again, but unfortunately the present leaders of Egypt are not stupid. Hamas is a threat to Egypt also.

What did I say that was false?
Albright is as stupid as ever. In Gaza there are no civilians there are only Palestinian activists. The solution is to bull doze them out of Gaza completely
I think multipolar Maddie be hitting the gin and watching old videos of her sad self doing the hula for the North Koreans
...so per her rationale, the best strategy for ANY COMBATANT is to stick innocent human beings into the line of fire and hope as many get killed as possible.
I wish there was a way to apply it to her family members...and maybe would then think differently.
Get a life.
I responded to an article and comments on a previous thread 2 days ago. I do not know where the prayer rug comment comes from, but the comments above 'briefly' comprise my views of the Jewish people. My comments about Mrs. Albright was simply a statement about me not understanding why many, Jewish, people are such vociferous critics of Israel. Perhaps I misunderstand her comment, but I would appreciate it if you not misunderstood me regarding my love of Israel and the Jewish people. Many of my trainers were Jews and are my best friends...Dr. Blumenthal, Dr Suffian.
My comment about Albright came to mind because I remember when it was reported in the news that Madeline Albright had just recently found out about her heritage. Yet I have heard Albright stand 'less that shoulder-to-shoulder' with Israel. That is what prompted my first comment.
So, I will leave the prayer rug to those who put stock in such. I am not one who does. Hope you have a nice day.
