There were only a few ways Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) could react to HBOs True Blood portrayal of Texas Republicans being murdered at a fictitious Cruz fundraiser.
He could have ignored it, or laughed it off. But he went political.
A scene in Sundays episode took place at the George W. Bush Presidential Library, where a Cruz function was being held. The vampires who went made disparaging comments about the Republicans in attendance (What do you expect? Its Hollywood.) and then there was a vicious bloodbath. (We admittedly do not watch True Blood, so we cant offer further context, but we know its a show about vampires and can be quite grisly.)
Cruz, not known for mincing words, shot back on social media several times Tuesday, drawing a comparison between the undead and Democrats. On his Facebook page Cruz wrote:
Of all the places I never thought to be mentioned, HBOs True Blood vampire show would have to be near the top of the list. Sunday night, they aired a misogynist and profanity-ridden episode where Texas Republicans are murdered attending a Ted Cruz fundraiser.

The man runs intellectual circles around them, and yet they never stop trying to catch up with him on their two left club-feet.
You do know why the dems hate him so much don’t you ..??
The thought behind the proverb had been expressed earlier by Oscar Wilde:
The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.
This is what I meant.
It goes both ways.
Personally, I am sick to distraction even now of the George Bush, ‘oh be classy don’t say anything’ lukewarm failed strategy.
The only people who vote after they’re dead are dems isn’t hilarious to you?
I see none of that here. Just a little sarcasm and observation.
I wonder how that FBI investigation into that outhouse is going...
“...their two left club-feet.”
Cloven?
because he is effective and he is right
Yeah - we agree on that completely. It was pretty sad. Reagan had a way of dealing with this. Scorn, ridicule with some humor.
'REPUBLI-C*NT': LEFT'S POPULAR CULTURE NORMALIZES DEPRAVITY TOWARDS WOMEN
Sunday night, in the latest episode of HBO's "True Blood," one of the series' main characters attended a fictional Texas fundraiser for Senator Ted Cruz. While dressing like a southern Republican stereotype for the occasion, she looks in the mirror and refers to herself as a "Republi-cunt."
Harsh, no question. But I still can't wrap my head around the fact that the producers of "True Blood" attempted to sucker former-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin into appearing on the show.
We don't know if the requested cameo was for this infamous "Republi-cunt" episode. Thankfully, Palin smelled a rat, so we'll never know. Based on HBO's hyper-partisan history and the unique context and storyline of this particular episode, it is perfectly reasonable to assume the network's intent was to sweet talk Palin into humiliating herself as a "Republi-c*nt" in front of the whole wide world.
It is also safe to assume this because pop culture's mean-spirited and degrading cruelty towards Republican women is now the norm, not the exception.
Exactly!!!
Can we get the FEC to ban this episode like they did the Citizens United documentary Hillary the movie?????
Clearly this is electioneering during a campaign season.
I’ve enjoyed the books far more than the tv series. It would have been better if they’d stuck to the actual characters and storyline of the books instead of using the series as a way to pursue their own political agenda.
they get free advertising, but also warn conservatives its a worthless show.
Cruz nails it. I cannot wait to see him dispatch Hillary in a debate. She’ll be crying worse than Kathleen Willy after hills’ husband raped her.
Thanks Nachum.
Good grief! I’m so glad we quit watching it years ago when the writers put it on a fast track to the cess pool of hell.
Ya know - if you ignore them, theyll go away. As it is, they get free advertising.
Yeah. That worked so well when “W” was in office.
I see none of that here. Just a little sarcasm and observation.
I saw the liberals try to give Cruz a wedgie only to slink away with a bloody nose. The Republican Party needs to do more of this.
Hollyweird's going after Cruz and Palin... Another sign Cruz and Palin are good people - lowlifes don't like them...
