Senior U.S. intelligence officials said Tuesday that Russia was responsible for "creating the conditions" that led to the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, but they offered no evidence of direct Russian government involvement.
The intelligence officials were cautious in their assessment, noting that while the Russians have been arming separatists in eastern Ukraine, the U.S. had no direct evidence that the missile used to shoot down the passenger jet came from Russia.
The officials briefed reporters Tuesday under ground rules that their names not be used in discussing intelligence related to last week's air disaster, which killed 298 people.

Yes there were all once Soviets, but the newer generation doesn’t buy into that. Still they were all RUssians at one time..so not only do they know how each fights and about each other....Putin knows them too...unlike the West and Obama who are always trying to figure out why they do what they do and don’t behave like Americans! You know who could handle Putin, Bush....like butter in his hands was Putin..and Putin was glad to let it appear that way...he liked Bush for two reasons...One they understood each ones vocabulary well....two... Bush ‘respected’ Putin (with one eye open)and knew that was necessary to do business that they both wanted to do and accomplish. They spent time building trust and spoke in public favorably of one another even though we knew the cards they were playing. As long as their “friendship” endured we had peaceful times with Russia......
That has kind of been my take since Day 1. Unless there is some really bizarre, and nefarious Spy vs Spy stuff going on here, it sure sounds like the Russian backed rebels launched a missile at what they believed to be a Ukrainian plane. In other words they screwed up royally. It happens in war zones. Unfortunately we had a similar tragic mistake in the Gulf of Hormuz some years ago where we also took down a passenger plane.
The moral to the story is to take the long way home, rather than fly near jumpy people.

Russia made a point to state the US knew through it’s satellite coverage.....and how they would know it was or not actively over the area when this happened.
At question was the airline going off radar and why...and who was flying the jets then as well as other information they shared....if those questions, (politely framed), could not be answered then low and behold someone had to fold....and it wasn’t going to be Russia and Obama knew it.

that is absolute nonsense...none of the rebels were trained to fire that sophisticated piece of military equipment. A russian military person fired it ....period. Russia is 100% liable for this disaster and we should NEVER let them off...
On second thought, you are exactly correct. The Gambler would run away from Obama. And that is what everyone in the world is doing. Heck, even the head of Turkey wont take his calls anymore. And many freepers ran away from him over 5 years ago. So apparently the Gambler had run into Obama types.
They can fire them. I was reading today that it isn’t that hard. Since everyone there is from Ukraine, it would stand to figure that some of these guys were in Ukraine military prior to the coup.
