You can’t exactly accuse someone who just finished a book tour of hiding, but Hillary Clinton certainly is ducking a lot of questions. And that’s understandable, because she would have a lot of problems coming up with answers that wouldn’t hurt her prospects for the presidency. At the Washington Post, Jennifer Rubin notes:
Maggie Haberman of Politico confirms first that Hillary Clinton is entirely inaccessible to the media and second that none of those denied access thought it important to let the public know Clinton is hiding from questions. Haberman observed, “What has been really striking about Hillary Clinton’s book tour is she has not taken a single question, that I know of from reporters who are attending.”
Well, who can blame Clinton from hiding, I suppose, given her declining popularity, the gaffe-filled book tour and the instability engulfing Europe and the Middle East. She is ducking the press for now, but even that is problematic. Clinton’s reputation as overly cautious and hyper-controlled at some point becomes a lack of courage and conviction. What does she think we should do about Gaza? What does she think about the Iran interim agreement extension?
Until now Clinton has been cautiously defensive of the administration. After all, it’s pretty hard to indict the president and her successor for policies essentially begun on her watch. By not speaking out she’s preserving the appearance of solidarity with the president, which these days seems like a general-election error. Nevertheless, with the potential for a left-wing challenger hanging over her head she dare not call out the president for weakness, indecision or insufficient world leadership. But soon she will be presented with the choice she thought she left behind in 2008: Be responsible on foreign policy or play to the left-wing base?

None of this matters. By late 2015, the media and every institution will formulate a shiny new image for her Hillariness which the American people will swallow. All history, every defect, all reality will vanish in a puff of medical marijuana.

Hillary isn’t enough woman, or human, to do the job for Bill. Inadequacy, Hillary is thy name. Bill needs a real woman. Besides, Hillary has her other women too.

This is exactly the strategy she used in running for the Senate in NY. She does not want to face the hurly-burly of actually campaigning so she sets up a one-way communications path. Thus, her 'listening tour' campaign in NY - 'Don't ask me questions; I'm only here to listen.' She wants to be President. She does not want to have to make her case for why she should be President by actually campaigning.
You make a good point. There’s many things out there she doesn’t want to be held accountable for because she knows she doesn’t have reasonable answers, she’ll just clam up.

It’s all we hear. All we see, all we’re allowed to think about.
If there’s one day in y life when I DON’t have to hear about and from these two grifters, and see their mugs all over the bookstore and the media, I’ll be thrilled.
But Hillary resurrected this item, that is, Bill’s philandering, as it is when she is most popular. It is when she runs for office, when she decides to break out of the marriage and show us what SHE is made of.
I can’t say it wont work because she will do anything to corral the awe-stricken voters who can get her at least near the voter fraud zone.
But, really, they are Marie and Frank Barone, and Bill’s already had a heart attack.
Like her job at State, Hillary remains an actor on the political stage without substance and adorned in photo ops as all the evidence of how great she is.
Yep, and Hillary's shiny new image no doubt includes an overhaul on the face and chassis--which could also explain her disappearing act right now.
Even if she wanted to answer questions, which she doesn't, it's probable that even Hillary can figure out that weighing in on Gaza and Bill's mistresses while sporting two black eyes and head bandages isn't the smartest move.

I have a very hard time believing that the democrats want to have this tired old, bitter shrew as their candidate.
